I listened to this yesterday. Patrick really went to bat for us and it was awesome. He made them sound like the fools they are.

It still amazes me just how awful the sports talk radio is in the #2 market in the country, and it's always been awful. Was back in town last weekend and was driving from Santa Barbara back down to OC, turned on 710 hoping that maybe they would talk Kings hockey considering Game 6 was that night, nope, was all basketball again, first about whether the Clippers should move to Anaheim and then the ever popular LeBron vs. Kobe talk, as if that hasn't been beaten to death. The sports talk in Chicago is so much better than LA it's not even close.

I listened live and again this morning, love the part where he hammers Max and Marcelus (still don't know why these clowns are on the air), where he says they "pretend not to know the Kings."

Those morons are the biggest offenders. But the whole station is at fault for not giving the Kings at least SOME mention in the regular season. This station does not talk about either the Kings or the Ducks until playoff time.

Just horrible. I get more info about Kobe wiping his ass than I do hockey here. Anyways, nice going Patrick!

How about Mychal Thompson? What does this guy contribute as a sports talk host? He has been employed by both stations in LA and the only sport he knows anything about is basketball.

Once again, how on Earth do people like Mychal Thompson, Marcellus Wiley and Vic The Brick end up in desirable time slots in the second largest market in the country, it's incredible.

Agree, Thompson is just painful to listen to, even talking basketball.

I actually think Marcellus Wiley is decent, it's just that Max Kellerman, who he is paired with, is such an insufferable moron blowhard that their show is unlistenable.

1. Bristol put them there.
2. Yup. Most of the local (read: tri-state) employees ESPN has are rooting for the Rangers. Pablo S. Torre, Linda Cohn, Frank Isola, Tony Kornheiser, and Katie Strang, to name a few.

Linda Cohn and Katie Strang are jokes. They are two of the three (Steve Levy is the third) to pick the Rangers to win (Levy has them winning in six).

Seven others all picked the Kings. Strangely enough, Burnside the moron finally figured out that he was on the wrong side of destiny and picked the Kings in 5.

I am hoping for a Kings sweep so I can shove that up Cohn's and Strang's and Levy's twitter butt when the time comes. There just isn't any justification other than home-town rooting to pick the Rangers. Again, I just don't see it. They have some speed on the wings and they have Lundy. That's it, folks. That's all they got.

****ing awesome, heard it live.

Everyone associated with the Kings and the NHL has been very cordial and classy with this subject, and quite frankly the L.A. media hasn't deserved that level of class. Great to hear Patrick just rip them apart.

It's really LA radio that's the worst. Totally out of touch with the NHL for so long now it's a catch-22. Hockey fans don't bother listening to them because we know they won't talk hockey, and they won't talk hockey because hockey fans aren't listening, so instead they drone on about the NBA all day.

The newspapers are vastly improved from where they were a few years ago. The LA Times has 4 reporters to the Final this year. For a while they weren't sending a beat writer on Kings road games. Hammond is back writing for the Register. Daily News has a beat writer now. Even TV is 100% improved from 2012. The reporters don't screw up nearly as much, and NBC4 now covers it as much as the other LA sports. Fox 11 are still idiots but they get eyeballs on that as well, so at least they found something that works for them.

They got the message (and so did the Kings - winning changes everything). Radio needs to get their act together.

Why the hate on Linda Cohn, she's a Rangers fan and always has been. I know she's media, but she's an on-air anchor and that's her team. I don't have a problem with her picking her favorite team to win.

Because she is purported to be an "expert" by ESPN. If you are an "expert" you don't let your feelings about one team or another affect your reasoning when it comes to making predictions.

Unless there is a logical reasoning for picking the Rangers in this series (I don't see it at all), then someone should not be picking a team to win out of sheer wishing it happens.

I liked thompson until he interviewed Anson Carter after the trade and insulted him for sounding too educated to be black, and insult to all blacks everywhere and a statement about how bad our school systems are when a guy who graduates from a college can not put together a full sentence because he runs a 4.4 or is seven feet tall, funny because MT was educated in the bahamas and has to force himself to sound black at times.....actually funny or sad ?

570 has vastly improved ever since the Flakers left for ESPN.

570 is the place to be for Kings coverage. Don't bother with ESPN at all. Money is a big fan and they're right in front of Staples on game day, broadcasting. Plus, you gotta admire a guy who ends a text dispute with his mom in Chicago, who texted GO HAWKS! to him, with a picture of the Campbell Trophy saying it's back where it belongs.

That show is ok, I listen sometimes on iHeart radio, just wish they talked more sports and kept the other stuff off the show. That and Petros is one of those guys you can only listen to for about 30 mins before you need a break from him.

Patrick O'Neal should get a raise for that. Awesome to hear him firing back because he spoke for all of us diehard fans who for years have known that the Kings get no respect from the local media.

Ain't that the truth.

He yells EVERYTHING. I like the guy but sheesh.

Well, hopefully he's sporting a pair of earrings in the next 10 days or so. He had to get his ear pierced as a bet payoff when the Kings came back from 0-3. If the Kings win it all, he's agreed to get another one.
