True. I'm sure everyone know that they are second guy from their father, third guy from their grandfather, fourth guy from their great-grandfather and so on without that fact coded to their names as a reminder about the fact.

There is indeed something ridiculously pompous in that naming habit, and it can be also very impractical if your close relatives have same name as your own. And if you're for example fourth, was your great-great-grandfather 0 or Zero with his ordinal number? How about his father?

Also, if we continue our father-lines enough long backwards we will eventually arrive to the individual person who is the latest common ancestral father for all current registered HFBoarders (and highly probably also to P.Kane II and III)...

So, that's about that "family dynasty".

But that's largely off topic. Happy for the newborn to our dynasty.

Geno, ovy, Crosby, now kane all having kids in there 30s and on.

Guys like Mcdavid/Marner/Draisaitl/Mack/Matthews etc havent had kids yet and I honestly dont imagine them having kids for the next few years atleast.

Maybe b/c those guys have been pushed as the future of hockey for a while. Fans imagine them as being continuously young when 23-25 are ages when people do have children frequently. I can see it being hard it's hard to imagine them having children when they're viewed as kids(young athletes) themselves

Yeah, but in general you see a lot of guys having children earlier than the average. Maybe not star players but in general.

Wouldn't surprise me if McDavid and Marner both have a kid in the next 3-4 years as they both have longterm girlfriends.
