How could the Hawks trade both? Wouldn’t make much sense.

Their is an article on the Athletic that they are looking at going full rebuild. DeBrincat would be a helluva haul if he's on the market. Kane's name has surfaced with the Avs' rumor earlier this year, may also be a quality jumpstart to building anew as well.

You do if you want to post it on HFBoards.
Funny, a long time ago I posted (not verbatim) on the teams board we both align with bits of a long conversation I had with 3 members of the LA Kings mgmt team. A discussion that took place in a Florida Mexican restaurant.
(It was winter, Florida is warm, Manchester was playing Orlando, I recognized Boudreau)
No punishment. Lots of conversation though.

Also while I no longer have the connection I had a family member who worked for the company that provided in house medical services to the Blackhawks and Bulls.
I shared many things here “first”.
Sometimes people thought it was crazy. … until it came out or happened.

I feel like theres no chance in hell either player gets moved. But oh man could they get a haul. Kane at 50% for two playoff runs would be massive

Kane to the Rangers makes way too much sense. It's just a question of how they can make the cap work.
They really can't.

Option 1 is to get double retention on him and I can't even begin to speculate how expensive that would be.

Option 2 would be to trade for him with no retention (still very expensive) and then deal him again in the summer when other teams KNOW the Rangers have no choice but to move him and offer pennies on the dollar

Option 3 is same as option 2 except they would need to convince at least one of Kreider/Trouba to waive their NMCs and deal them - again for pennies on the dollar since other teams know the Rangers are ****ed.

All of those options are terrible IMO.

I don’t see how Kane and Debrincat go hand in hand. 5 years from now, Kane is retired or playing a Joe Thornton role while Debrincat is scoring 50 goals a season. And it probably doesn’t stop there for Debrincat, since his game is so self-reliant. He’s like Brett Hull. He’ll probably be outscoring Chicago’s future stars 10 years from now, even if he’s chubby and slow. And once you lose a guy who can score like that, it’s hard to find one to take his place.

While I highly doubt a trade would happen, I'm sure if Kane said I'm open to a trade chicago probably already has a few Teams with potential to make a last minute move....

Lmao trading away Debrincat is dumb drunken poker table chatter. Not happening.
Actually that's not true. DEBRINCAT won't be around or worth paying in 2 years , Chicago is going full rebuild which means 4 to 6 years before chicago is relevant again.

How would cat not be worth paying in 2 years
Not on a rebuilding team that is looking to maintain cost controls and allow to pay there youth who will be seeking raises. Cat won't be apart of Chicago's future ... it's simple he is 24 or 25 there still a year out before they get toews and kane off the books , there farm system needs to be rebuilt and stocked with young talent and they have no young promising goalies in the pipeline... they need lots of young prospects and high picks ...

What's the likelihood of the Avs going all in on Kane now that they've missed out on Giroux? Mac really wants a Cup so Sakic better do something big to make it happen!

Trading Debrincat makes no sense. He is person you build around in a rebuild

As for Kane he is only going to be traded IMO if he asks out. If not, he finishes out his contract with Hawks and either resigns to finish out his career as vet during rebuild or leaves as FA in offseason of 2023

Cat won't be around its common sense looking at his value, return and how long a rebuild will take 5 to 6 years easily why would chicago pay him 9 or 10 million when there nowhere near a competitive team ? He would be 30 years old by the time chicago is close to competing... logical thinking here

Trading Kane will be hard for the fact that his cap hit is so high and if you them to retain 50% the haul you'd have to pay would be astronomical. This is a top 5-10 player over the last decade who still produces at an above PPG pace.

Why would a rebuilding team pay a player 9 million plus on a non competitive team ? Name a rebuilding team that wasn't going anywhere and in desperate need to rebuild its entire organization from the ground up pay a 26 year old 9 plus million?
