Igor's not having his best year obviously (and not one player on the team is tbf) but everyone saying he's not earning his contract when he is not playing under that contract has bugged me. Shesty has always played his best in crunch time, down the stretch and in the playoffs. im still a believer. What choice do I have otherwise? The guy aint going anywhere. Kinda feel the same about Meeka. Im hard on these guys because I want them to succeed and know they are capable of more than what they've shown us.

You think he'll all of a sudden become Hasek when the contract kicks in?

It’s been difficult for me which is why I don’t post as much and just get the GDT’s going, and other mod duties needed.

I won’t put players before a team anymore but you still feel for these guys when they are struggling if you are a fan of theirs.

People wear their jerseys because they like the player and it’s not easy when things are not going well for them.
I hear that, bud.

No but I also dont think he's some middling goalie. He's top 5 (and not #5) easily and every rational person would agree. It just so happens he was the next one who had to get paid. I can't explain why Helly took less but he clearly took a major discount for Winnipeg. Igor didnt for us, it is what it is. Im happy we have a goalie I dont have to worry about instead of seeing what this team would look like with league average goaltending.

They are for bigger problems with this team than what Igor is going to be paid.

I've been saying this for a while. He's not hurt. The back problems shit he told mollie sounds more like chronic issues related to age and wear and tear requiring management and maintenance. Even before tonight I've seen instances where he turned it up when he wanted to. Is his stamina the same? Probably not. He can do it in spurts.
Sometime you can power through injury and pain in short spurts. I see he seems to have little strength even when pushing vs much smaller guys. Looks like he is in discomfort just looking at his face. I would like to say he is 100% physically sound but it doesn't appear that way to me 🙁

i know a lot of you don't really want to hear this but Zib has probabblyyyyyyy been our best player since the new year.

The Kreider and Mika hate here has been insufferable. Especially for Kreider who I know is playing hurt. He is breaking Rangers goal records and was drafted and home grown by this organization.
Especially today with all the doctors and surgeons on here going "see, his back isn't bothering him, he scored a goal!"

He's about to be 34. His back is bothering him. It's not an excuse -- he's just old.

I don't remember who said it, but the other day, somebody pointed out that you don't get to hate a guy through 320 goals and then go for a round of high fives when he gets old.

Dude it’s Callahan all over again for me again. Difference is, Kreider has actually made a case to have his number retired and become a Rangers alumni.
