Great to be the next addition the group of Maritimers on here haha jackets fans in these parts are a rare breed. Large majority of my friends and family are divided between the habs and the leafs. Myself I'm from Campbellton New Brunswick but I enjoy Moncton alot more. Our cities team, the Moncton Wildcats are good watch too. Had a few WJC games in 2023, that was pretty fun too haha. Ironically myself though I've never been down into the states yet.

Not much reason to go to the 11th province (the states). :D

Our David Savard was a Moncton Wildcat. He won the CHL D MVP there actually, and in that year they won the Q championship.

Love Savard. Love the Wildcats alumni in general. Still pretty happy I still get to watch oli just like when he was in Moncton hahaha

Beyond reproach is a different standard, like an avid monarchist would say the King is beyond reproach. What Vincent is, is not the reason our PP sucked, which it did for 7 years prior to him taking over.
the power play being bad in 19-20 isn't why the power play was bad in 23-24, but the head coach in 23-24 is ultimately responsible for both special teams units being utter dogshit in 23-24.

it's far down the list of pascal vincent's failings simply because there were so many but it shouldn't be controversial to say that it's a line item on that list.

as a hater on an internet message board, it is my duty to drill down on the full list and not just play the hits.

That's fine, but you should realize it makes your overall argument weaker.
if someone isn't sold by the "he barely outperformed a team that actively tanked and had zero NHL defensemen most nights" stuff, i'm not gonna change their mind anyway.

besides, the goal of message board posting isn't to win hearts and minds, it is to function as an outlet for our sports-driven psychosis.

Exactly. If I thought I had a chance in hell of convincing you morons about anything, I’d spend a lot more time here arguing.

Current things I’d spend more time arguing:

1) Given the franchise has always sucked except maybe one season, do not under any circumstances bring back ex Jackets. Bringing in new guys is fine, and hopefully we’d bring in new guys who have actually had some playoff success. (Bringing in retired ex-Jackets to celebrate the team’s dismal history is ok.)

2) No team with Severson will ever play for the Stanley Cup. (The only possible exception is if he develops an allergy to his hockey equipment and his contract is traded a couple of times and is used to do one of those weird LTIR cap moves.)

3) Davidson’s only role with the team should be some between period entertainment where Jackets fans get to throw golf balls at his head for prizes.

I remember when you guys were blaming Sylvain Lefebvre (now a Panthers assistant coach) for the failures of can't miss prospects like Scherbak, McCarron, De La Rose, Hudon, etc... Sometimes it's not the coach and you guys just get your echo chamber going overpuffing your prospects.
This.
