Wait... modern pentathlon is taking out the horsey shit next Olympics and replacing it with an obstacle course ahahaha.

Bad luck rich boarding school kids. No more medals for you.

I just need to learn to shoot and maybe I will enter.:laugh::laugh:
That's pretty dumb since they already have a 3k cross country run as part of the competition. They should just replace the show jumping with the equestrian cross country which is more true to the roots of the sport, and allow the teams to bring their own horses instead of the randomly assigned nonsense.

For me replace beach volleyball with track cycling.
Add Women's heptathlon and bronze medal football, and modern pentathlon

They just mentioned that the favorite for the men's 200 m sprint on the track, Harrie Lavreysen, can leg press 800kg (1763.7 lb). I wonder if Jalen Hurts can do that.

You're not interested in watching the break dancing that is currently on? This is ridiculous

Tbh some biathletes might be able to just rock up and win now... tbh would not shock me if some of the Triathletes just learnt how to shoot in the next 4 years...as with - really - you only needing to be able to do a sub 1.55 min 200m swim (in a 25m pool bahaha) and a sub 9.30 or so 3km... in intervals... and whatever the obstacle course will be? You could probably still win as a top triathlete coming last in fencing ahaha.

Yeh, removing the horses basically means everyone who trained for this sport at their private schools are f***ed.

Don't the biathletes even ski *WITH* their weapon though?

The whole 'laser gun run' thing is dumb. At least make them use air-soft pistols (or rifles) and force them to run WHILE carrying it to the target. All they do is run up to the target area, pick up the gun that's at the area and then use it and leave it.

Back in the day, when I was competing in epee I knew some of the guys on the US pentathlon team since they usually entered the big epee competitions. They certainly didn't seem like the private school type to me. Maybe you get a different class of athletes in the UK.

That match point the US couldn't put away was a great one

A foot fault by Italy on their serve..second match point incoming

They get it! Bronze medal for the US!!

I love how much a bronze means at the Olympics, versus things like the soccer and rugby world cups where coming 3rd can be a national disaster.

Noah Lyles winning a medal in the 200M while he had Covid is wild stuff man. Helluva an athlete

So, gentlemen... How will USA 4x100 mens relay team f*** it up this time?

a) lane violation
b) incorrect baton exchange
c) none of the above, but messy exchange -> fall
d) asteroid hits Paris during the event

Was seeing NBC go thru the history of US failing at this event over the last 4 or 5 Olympics and in China it was raining when they dropped the baton. It was raining pretty hard during the 4x100 women.
