Sitting here watching the US Track and Field qualifying so figured I'd start a thread. Sha'Carri Richardson just qualified in the women's 100M. She qualifed for Tokyo 2020 Olympics but later tested positive for weed and was given a one month ban and missed the games.

Some chick got bodied at the end of the 800M semi final and crashed into the score board. Sounds like she got a bit banged up

Ryan Crouser will be trying to make history as the first man to win 3 golds in the shot put. The guy is an amazing athlete.

Heat won by Athing Mu, from Trenton, NJ
Saw that she tripped and fell in the final and finished last and won't be at the Olympics even though she is undoubtedly the best at that distance in the world. Shame

Many are bringing up how self-destructing the US Olympic trial system is with it all relying just on that event to decide on the Olympic team.

Two other events featuring the hammer and the discus saw the world champions suddenly have a horrible day and not make the team. The hammer thrower (Brooke Andersen) has 4 of the 10 best throws this year by a female hammer thrower including the #1 distance. One of the qualifying hammer throwers from the event doesn't even meet the Olympic qualifying standard.

I believe they can still pick her for the relay team.

Back in March got tickets for the final game of basketball qualifiers, Riga group - next Sunday. Latvians better be in that final, ticket prices were... above average and Arena Riga was sold out in minutes. No Porziņģis tho, but it was expected after the injury.

She's only running 400m hurdles and not 400m although she had the fastest 400m time in the world last year (which was the 2nd fastest US woman 400m time ever), this year she ran a 400m earlier this month and was just off that (still good for 3rd fastest US time ever)

To put in perspective. She ran the 400m HURDLES broke her own world record and was 50.65. The best US woman in the 400m flat (no hurdles) ran a 50.13 and second place was 50.44.

She almost ran faster while jumping hurdles than some of the top female runners did running 400m without hurdles. That's insane.

BTW, her 400m flat time earlier this month was 48.75 so almost 1.5 seconds faster than the winner from the US trials in the 400m.

She’s the women’s version of Edwin Moses.

Was there ever a doubt? That girl is an absolute beast. One of the best athletes ever

Is she going to run the 400 flat in Paris too?

Soooo, Latvia lost to Phillipines in the basketball qualifier... Non-consequential loss as we are proceeding to our qualifying group semi-finals anyways, but it was a huge ''we did WHAT'' to entire country. Certainly good to have such a loss now instead of semis or finals where we are likely to face Montenegro, then Brazil.
