Why do you think he doesn't want to be here?
If you want to improve the team by trading a winger, why Nylander rather than Marner?
Unfortunately, we haven't been watching 'team building' for several years. Hopefully now that Dubas is gone, we can start, although we'll likely have to wait two more years until Tavares is gone to see any real improvement.
William Nylander:
Career plus 23 on a high scoring team.
Minus 4 in the 2023 playoffs.
Doesn’t play at the end of the game in the defensive zone.
Doesn’t play the penalty kill.
Doesn’t use his body enough despite his thickness.
Not a point per game player over his career.
Wants a sizeable raise at the age of 27 for eight years - what you see is what you get.
Anddddd…. is he going to keep this pace up at ages 31,32,33,34 etc?? Not a chance folks.
Held out for months and ghosted the team at least show up ready to go, held out for what? $1,000,000 total
Career time on ice 17:01 - why is that?
Mitch Marner:
Plays the penalty kill.
Career point per game player in less games and very close to ppg in playoffs.
Plays at the end of games in the defensive zone.
Plus 89 career.
Plus 7 2023 playoffs.
Uses his smaller frame more than Nylander *23 pound difference.
Will not get a sizeable raise at the age of 28, we can present a solid business case as to why that is. He’s not leaving once Matthews signs.
Career time on ice 19:40 - why is that?
Would you like me to continue?
Watch the whole movie. Not just the ending of the 2023 season.
Is the Nylander recency bias around here because he scored the last goal for us in a game we lost? Ridiculousness.
