Highlights are up on TSN, and almost don't recognize a single player. And I assume some of them won't be around long.Lions lost today, their first pre season game, against Calgary.
Game was in Langford- outside Victoria.
I have wondered if a franchise going into the B.C. Interior Kamloops/Kelowna area would have worked.Highlights are up on TSN, and almost don't recognize a single player. And I assume some of them won't be around long.
Nathan Rourke took only four snaps.....Chase Brice and Jerimiah Masoli divided most of the QB time. I'd forgotten Masoli was still in the league, or that he'd signed with the Lions.
Stands were packed in Langford, but they could only seat 6,000. They really love their football on Vancouver Island.
If they ever got a proper stadium, I'm wondering if CFL football could ever make it there? There's a lot more people living in Victoria and on Southern Vancouver Island than there used to be.
League does need a 10th team to balance out the schedule so that they don't have a bye each week.I have wondered if a franchise going into the B.C. Interior Kamloops/Kelowna area would have worked.
Aslo iirc the league was going to start a team in the Maritimes. Wonder what ever happened, they had covid delay, then crickets on that front.
Kelowna is weird about sports. The Rockets haven't sold out Prospera Place since the pandemic, and the Okanagan Challenge and Okanagan FC have both left the PCSL. There's also no arena for a CFL team, though the Apple Bowl site and old Dr. Knox school footprint could be used to build something if the team were locked in and provincial-level funding were on the table. A nice 10,000 to 12,000-seat bowl, no roof needed, another large event venue, so promoters aren't locked to Prospera... It could work, but I don't see where the money comes from.I have wondered if a franchise going into the B.C. Interior Kamloops/Kelowna area would have worked.

I was thinking of a long-term partnership with the HA, but that could work too.Jetskis and barbed wire ink.
