Panthers about to give all their players deals as if they won them the cup. One fluke run with no cup is going to make a serious cap mess there.
I love how all you clowns run around talking shit about the Panthers when we've won a President's Trophy, been in the playoffs multiple years (beyond the first round mind you), and just went to the Finals. Meanwhile, the Leafs have $32 million committed to 3 losers who do nothing to change their game to compete in the playoffs. Leafs fluke won a Round against the Lightning and you can't stop crying after the Panthers smacked ya around the next round. Nine games in two rounds en route to the Finals after beating a historical Bruins team. That's quite the "fluke," Clown shoes.
Both of these guys stink.
Found the clueless guy.

Montour is going to get paid for 1 season. Dude is 4-5 defenseman
No one knows his numbers, Zito has yet to had out a stupid contract, he's not about to start now. IMO

Wasn't Forsling part of some massive trade a few years ago with the Hawks and Canes?

Some GM would give something good for Ekblad in a trade and then shovel a big retirement contract his way, even as compromised as he is. I have zero doubts about this. Heck look what Zito himself gave up for Chiarot, and Zito has been a consistently good GM.

Ekblad is still big and has the allure of big, physical, hard shot tools even if he’s not even close to the same guy he was when he was younger and tends to get torched by quicker forwards especially in the up-tempo playoffs. He’s also still got a reputation I would imagine as an organizational front line defenseman even if he’s not actually that anymore.

A real opportunity here for Zito to cash him in to an organization that is desperate for an injection of name star power they can market on their blueline.

You might be right on Ekblad. That draft pedigree is still a powerful drug for GMs, as is the illusion of him being this big, strong, physical RH shot defenceman. Teams do stupid things all the time even when it's obviously a mistake. And he's got exactly the profile of the sort of guy that teams make mistakes on.

It just really feels like the jig is up with him, where everyone has sort of come around to the realization that Montour was the real "top guy" there. And Ekblad by contrast, no longer seen as a real "top defender".

Think Florida would give up Knight to move Bob contract? Get Huberdeau back in the deal and a NHL caliber goalie. Who is UFA but on low contract.

Nope: no way we add Huberdeay at that deal.

Ultimately, we can move Bob next year at 50 percent if we need it

Thought you guys would jump at idea of getting Huberdeau back for nil. Plus dump Bob
Depends which Bob you’re getting rid of though. Are we talking carried the team to Cup Final Bob, or are we talking .904 Bob. Those aren’t the same people.
