Panthers troll former teams

As defending champs, every team will up their game against you anyway so you might as well poke the stick back now as much as you want.

A couple of teams (not interested in riling up their fanbases, won't name 'em) played the Panthers like it was the damn finals during the regular season. So yeah, they're already getting most teams' best shot every night. Not gonna make a difference.

The Bruins were one of them and we still got our asses handed to us except that one game post deadline.

Yep, Vegas went through that after they won the Cup .... everybody played them in the following regular season like it was the Olympic Gold match. Happens to all champs. But makes the defending champs tough, if they can withstand the injuries and fatigue.

I don’t think other players would care about it. And I really don’t think the Panthers would care one bit if they did. Every team is going to get up for a chance to beat the Champions, anyway. Just like this season was.
Here’s the thing that bothers me, no players(especially from Edmonton), and no fans made fun of the Panthers when they were down for multiple decades, now once they on top, how do they repay that respect and gratitude? By mocking, offending, taunting the team they beat. Panthers are that kid that grew up underprivileged, became successful, and started to look down upon the under privileged.

Where is the SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY? I met someone from the Southern US in Edmonton who claimed the one thing he missed was the Southern hospitality. Turns out that’s not a thing, and the social contract is broken over there.

You still going on?

So instead of ragging on Florida and Americans about TV ratings (which you conveniently never brought up it was telecast on TNT this year which is only in about 1/2 the US homes than ABC the year before), now you're still ragging on Americans and Panther fans about etiquette.

You got issues my good man.

One day, you'll just have to accept Panthers beat Oilers again despite them having the HoF tandem of McDrai. Your team got manhandled by a third line comprised of old man Marchand who deked out Oilers defence, and made Lundell and Lusto look like all stars.

If it makes you feel better, no matter how much Oilers got bombed by Panthers, just watch reruns of Sportsnet telecasts and intermissions where the commentators, intermission crew and Sportsnet Central hosts all drool for Oilers making them look as good as possible. Just ignore the parts where Ken and Evanka during post game tried to prop up Oilers after a loss and Luke Gazdik shot them down as loser questions and moved on to the next topic. Then Ken and Evanka had a stupid look on their face as they probably thought Luke would go with flow cheerleading Oilers. But he didnt. LOL

Never has there been a worse sore winner in any sport and it's easy to see why. All these "troll jobs" by the Panthers reeks of insecurity, deep down they know they're undeserving Stanley cup champions.

I’m becoming a bit concerned that You’re becoming addicted to this :naughty:
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

Seriously, though. The Panthers and their six fans have been mocked and needled for years, as have the teams and fanbases of other teams in smaller, untraditional, southern etc. markets. People are so used to punching down from a position of strength that it gets uncomfortable and they don't know how to deal when the punching bag suddenly rises above its perceived station and hits back.

You've lost before - act like it!

Yup.

People who support teams with bigger numbers have strength in numbers. Thats why they are brave to act like big shots.

And in some sports like baseball and giant payrolls, the top teams are usually the big market teams with unlimited budgets. But even that isnt a guarantee. Florida Marlins won two WS on shoestring budgets and half empty stadiums way back making all the big budget teams and their fans look shameful.

So as last gasps, they bring up..... TV ratings, arena attendance, or opposition player celebrations to make them happy.

Pretty damn weird. But that's what you get with big time homer mentality.

That would be like a guy with an Audi saying his car is better than a guy driving a Toyota Corolla. And the Toyota guys says.... "But Corollas sells more units" or "Toyota gets more car shoppers at their dealerships than Audi"

This statement right here is the height of delusion.
You have to be trolling at this point.
Can you show or name me a player that has made fun of Florida after beating them?. Or not even beating them in the playoffs, just made fun of Florida or attacked their players like Tkachuk has?.

as for fan on fan banter, the six fan thing existed, but it gained traction when Florida started being competitive, after they started winning.

The irony cant be any hotter and the tears cant be any sweeter; and im not even a Panthers fan

Watching Edmonton foil McDavid’s (and Draisaitl’s) career is wonderful after they purposely tanked for as many picks as they could get

Get ready for another decade of knowing yall wasted a top-10 players prime! :(

Tkachuk didn’t attack anybody. They were giving props to Forsling and how well he played and he said Connor who? The crowd took it from there. You’re going overboard with this faux outrage.... and your revisionist history to suit your narrative is sad. As if bashing Panthers only increased when they started to be competitive.
Just stop now and go enjoy what little bit of summer you have up there.

Edit; I guess you are correct in that it “gained traction” after FL became competitive....and that is because they started beating teams and the fans of those teams (such as yourself) couldn’t handle it.

The Oilers never actually purposely tanked, they were just bad and got lucky(rewarded for their suffering). Also things could have obviously gone better, but McDrai have given so many fans unforgettable memories that we will treasure forever, so I wouldn’t call it “wasted”.

Just take the L and move on, bud. Learn how to handle losing

they are b2b champs

they can do whatever the f*** (legally) they want

gotta suck to be the flames though....not once but twice thats rough
Blame Sutter.

Curtis Jospeh thought he was a tool.

Story goes rhe players revolted and forced Flsmes management to ax him or they'd leave first chance.

According to Joseph he was just a D to the players; always criticizing with snide remarks

No one was really talking about the Panthers before they got good, so yes, the bashing has increased. I remember a Panther user here said how his entire existence on HF he has known nothing but bashing on his Panthers and constant negative remarks about the Florida hockey(his account was created in 2002). THAT is what an exaggeration and going overboard is. You guys are loved here and almost every neutral supported you!. Of course opposing fans are going to chirp during the series.

Going outside I will just see grieving Oiler fans so that doesn’t do any good. I didn’t mean to offend anyone, it’s just like… everything we Oiler fans say about Florida or in general this series is wrong and a form of “coping” and everything Florida Fans say is truthful, and indisputable. Let’s just collectively say no to double standards. That’s the morally right thing to do.

You sound fun at parties. It’s a f***ing game bro. You’re acting like some 13th century nobleman trying to teach someone about etiquette.

Nobody will die from a little chirping..youre letting this upset you more than it needs to.

Yeah. On the Oilers board one poster was wishing the fires harmed LA fans more. Only one person spoke out and said that's going too far.

But now suddenly chirping the Oilers fans and constantly hearing a large subset talk about "California reffing" and "Bettman's rigged the league against us" and they play the victim.

Doesn't help that media folk stoke the flames of victimhood, and oddly stay silent when evidence of bad things happening to other teams get brought up.

Maybe you weren't watching hockey then?

The summer before the Oilers finished last they tried to trade for Dany Heatley.

They came by their losing honestly. 🤣

The guy literally defending death threats to Skinner’s wife. Wild stuff. I don’t know what they do up there in Edmonton to act so insensitive

Oilers asked the NHL to prevent a young boy from sitting behind their bench for the playoffs because he was distracting.... That's just petty. No wonder they get trolled.
