Bennett a beast on Florida. On Flames his stats were lousy especially his final few years.

I dont follow his career. Just know more about him since his Florida days racking up timely goals and big hits.

But on Calgary, his stats look so bad either team didnt use him right (perhaps dumping him on a shitty 3rd or 4th line???), or maybe he just stunk early in his career and it amped up on Florida.

Skimming his TOI, Hockey Ref had him playing 14 min/game on Cgy, and 17 min on Flo. So he's getting more ice time, but his scoring and pts ratios are much better especially in playoffs.

they tried to use him as a winger instead of letting him be a center which is what they drafted him for. They had Lindholm / Backlund / Monahan in the middle at the time. Back to back 12 pt seasons (with plenty of time missed) didn't do him much favours over there. but he did perform pretty well in the playoffs even back then for the Flames

In hindsight it has to be one of the worst trades in the last 10 years

I'm a Bs fan and I love it. The Panthers were a juggernaut, and might still be. Hopefully they can run it back (mostly) and repeat, I'd love to see Marchand rack up another cup or two being a beast third liner.
