Value of: Evander Kane

He is an assett, albiet a small one. Has great power forward skills, stands up for his teammates, but also seems to make bad decisions on a regular basis. Its cost and will continue to cost him money going forward, but if EDM moves him, they will get a small asset back, like a 4th rounder for a team that is in need of goals and has leadership that can tune him out. He is not the missing piece.

So it might br nothing but I noticed after Florida beat Edmonton last night that Evander Kane did not take part in the handshake line.

and that got me thinking has Evander Kane played his last game in Edmonton?

If so where does he go? And for what?

That series seemed very personal. Forgot which insider tweeted that there was nothing off limits when it came to chirping. Think these two teams really hate each other. It has even come out in Florida's cup celebrations.

That said I think the league investigation and what not Kane and Edmonton has reached its logical souring point. Not sure what Edmonton can get for him to be honest. Baggage and off ice BS aside I think they need to move him for Cap more than anything else. Thinking return is less than Marchment with Dallas, just do to off ice crap.

Kane is such a fun player to watch.

I doubt many other teams are as willing as edmonton to take on such a morally bankrupt player, but there are probably a few takers

When You are as talented as Kane is, there will ALWAYS be takers.

Because Morals don't play into professional sports.

If they did Kane woud be out of the NHL by now.

Jon Jones and Conor Mcgreggor woud be cut by the UFC.

Antonio Brown woud have been out of the NFL YEARS before he was.

Morals don't count in pro sports, they never have.

He’s been one of the best Oilers in the community since he’s been here doing countless volunteer work and even spending his off season in Edmonton. People need to get over a young adult Kane taking money stack picks, wearing a track suit to games and the false accusations from his crazy ex. I dont recall Kane falling on goalies all playoffs or elbowing other players in the head so I probably don’t have any idea what morally bankrupt is.

His value? Worthless.
Less than “worthless”. If he wasn’t toxic to a club he’d have decent value. He can be a good player that adds to a club’s top six. He’s only got one year left at a fair number.
BUT! He’s toxic.
Imo Evander Kane’s value in trade is negative. The oilers would need to add, retain, take back bad money, or some combination to move him.

There was also that unnecessary and potentially damaging (he didn't get called) slash towards the end of the game. We've seen some epic comebacks so I think it was absolute horseshit for him to be acting like that when you are 3 goals down with 5 minutes left (or something like that). I'd say the difference between Kane and Bennett is about 40 IQ points and Kane has an overactive amygdala.

What is he worth? I wouldn't want him but you might be able to peddle him off to a desperate team with 50% retention for an AHL player. Drama factory.
I would have said he was worth his buyout value but capwages is telling me "This player is not eligible for a buyout as their contract ends before the next buyout window."
Alligators are ornery because they have an enlarged Abdullah oblongata.

Yeah, from rumours around the city there will be a decent handful of teams interested in Kane. Oilers fans don’t expect a BIG return for him, but they’ll be able to move him at full cap hit without much difficulty, especially with the cap increasing as much as it is. He had a decent playoffs too.

JT Miller is a well known locker room cancer that is ALWAYS fighting with teammates and wearing out his welcome. Never hurts for work or takers because of his talent level. Kane is the same story. Less of a talent than Miller is, but similar reasoning.

Holland was the one who convinced Kane to sign in Edmonton originally, so between that and the California factor I can see LA being a good fit for all parties. Doubly so if the Kings strike out on Marner and therefore have $15M+ burning a hole in their pockets for one year.

Kane for Akil Thomas and LA’s 4th. They have the potential to ice a very strong top nine next season:

Fiala-Kopitar-Kempe
Kane-Byfield-Laferriere
Foegele-Danault-Moore
Lee-Helenius-Turcotte

Kane in his contract year will produce somewhere and probably have a good season. He will be motivated knowing his next deal depends on it. Just don't fall into the trap of resigning him beyond that.

Not too sure E Kane’s on ice play is the concern.

I don't think you'd get a big return, I don't think his value is high at all but I do think they'd get SOMETHING
