Okay. I’m changing my mind about what’s going on because the whole team, coach included, are making it so obvious. They’re coasting in order to 1) avoid or ward off fatigue as much as possible at playoff time, and 2) not get even more injuries (often result of fatigue).

It’s obvious, because they’ve done it before and understand the need for it. They truly believe, and are counting on the team’s ability to turn it on and turn it up to 11 when the real season starts. They have decided that it is way more important to do that than to angle for a specific opponent or position, because when they turn it up, they can take on anyone.

The only exceptions are the bottom 2 D, balls and bjorn. They are told to get up to speed because that’s their only hope of being able to contribute a little bit. However, they should pay attention to mistakes they’re making. They should try not to crap the bed as much as they’re doing now.

I’m not saying I’m convinced they’ll clobber the opposition in playoffs. I’m saying I now accept that they believe their best chance is doing it the way they’re doing it. We’re gonna see a bunch of L’s folks, let’s see if they got this gig down.

Tallas is a good guy but a terrible goalie coach
This is probably the worst narrative in our fanbase still left from the old days.

Tallas has turned out incredible performances from mediocre goalies for nearly two decades. Lots of guys have had career years or bounced back because of him. Just listen to anyone in the goalie world talk about him. He's extremely respected among his peers and his highly viewed within the organization, even by Zito. There's a reason he's held on through every single management group over the years.

I don’t see how this is still relevant

We won a cup with a goalie coached by him who we all thought had a dying career. He revitalized Knight who was playing better than said Cup winning goalie

Vanecek was a goalie who lost his spot to Ilya f***ing Samsonov

Why does this weirdo on the Toronto boards come over here all the time and then say “Tkachuk isn’t coming back this playoffs” on his boards.

Were in big trouble in playoffs if 1 of Brainrot or Ballsack plays. If both .....

They've learned alot the last 3 seasons. We've seen completely dominant games from them this season, wagon type shit, and we've seen complete out of character stinkers. This up and down has happened every season. You are probably as close to the truth for what is happening here. Injuries have people playing too high in the lineup. The are conserving energy, and their bodies, for what's coming. They know what it takes. They know what they're about to go through. Again. For another chance at the greatest trophy in sports(which I finally get to see at the HHOF a week from Monday). I can't wait until games matter again. Pens on a b2b, coming off a long roadie, ain't it.

So we’re still in first place because Laffs and Bolts lost too. Are they also coasting? Or trying but losing?
