Thought Luke had another very solid game last night as well.
Regardless of the sickness/tiredness, I thought the team played a solid, tight game against the reigning Stanley Cup Champs. Well deserved point.Team is clearly exhausted from sickness and been down a gear since the break. Idk how someone can watch the team lately and not see it, and also be mad at the result from yesterday.
Its like some folks never watched a full season before
Disciplined game! Good to see them grinding out tough pointsRegardless of the sickness/tiredness, I thought the team played a solid, tight game against the reigning Stanley Cup Champs. Well deserved point.
Nico dropped the gloves. This is not last year’s team. Tkachuk tried to bully NJ but it didn’t work. Both teams had their chances and both goalies played well. The shootout is whatever.For me, I only took away positives.
This was winnable against a very tough opponent. FLA was crashing the net and generally mucking it up any chance. Last year, they fold I think, regardless of how physically able they would have been.
This year, they cleared creases, stuck up for each other and battled all game.
Keefe has been preaching about playing a patient game, and having possibly gotten away from that on the road trip. They have absolutely gotten back to it in the past two games at home.
I know it's not the exciting brand of hockey some might prefer, but they're playing such a smarter type of game that has been missing the past few years.
I missed a lot of this game, was able to catch the first period and halfway through the 3rd to the end. It seemed like Nico was buzzing the most. He absolutely deserves recognition for the season he's having. We all want more consistency offensively from the entire group, especially the top 6, but what he's doing on top of the defensive load he's shouldering is extremely impressive.
Secondary scoring -------> Tyler Toffoli
Good thing we didn't keep him
That's what they say but he can bury the puck something that's sorely needed on this teamYou know the narrative - too slow.

If they wanted speed they should have just kept Sharangovich..... anyway we have Palat for the same priceProbably worded my reply wrong. I wish he was still here.
Palat has been playing better than usual lately but playing better then dogshit is not a great accomplishmentYou want someone with Jack and Nico that is doing what Palat is doing, which is getting to soft areas and putting pucks on net, and do that better.
That player doesn't need straight line speed to succeed in that role.
I posted it in the team thread the other day, but last 25 games(which is about when he was put on Hughes line) Palat is tied for league lead in 5v5 goals.Palat has been playing better than usual lately but playing better then dogshit is not a great accomplishment
