And I don’t know what player people think Muk is. He’s a beanpole on skates who needs more development than the rookies we have.

It’s pretty clear people will bitch about losing any player whenever they score. Someone was complaining that we didn’t still have Palmieri after he had a hat trick.

Sharangovich is a soft, perimeter player, and those are bad, except when we trade them away.

That might've been me  But I think I said I'd love a Palmieri type next to Jack but idk if it went further than that tbh

Eh, Tanev is about done.

I love Tanev to death, that contract was one of the best UFA signings in recent memory, but he’s 34.

Here’s every defenseman 34 or over playing in the NHL this season.

12 of them are older than 34.

If he would do something very short term, then maybe, but he can sign a 1-2 year deal anywhere.

You need to find a younger version.

Ya, that's fair. Realistically Marino from last year would be a perfect partner for Luke but he can't get his own head out of his ass which is making it difficult.

Me after watching ERod and Sam score tonight:

I never got the Reinhart trade from Buffalo but I forget if it was player asking out in that specific instance, I remember when Buffalo got ERod, it was basically because he was Eichel's best buddy from BU. I really didn't think ERod would carve out this good of a career for himself tbh

Look, what are the chances it happens again?!?!?

But honestly I would really like to trade for Ullmark. Not a top 10 pick, but I’d trade real value for him even with only 1 year left, if the Bruins are going to commit to Swayman (which they will).

Ullmark is a real goalie with a real track record and a very nice contract for next year.

Sam was going to be an UFA after one more season after being bridged to it by Bottamoron and when Adams told him they were going to start a new rebuild the writing was on the wall. The ERod thing was actually hysterical because they essentially never paired him with Jack even though that seemed like the obvious thing to do.

I use it sparingly. Mostly to cost delicate fibers on nymphs. Wing cases and abdomens made from quills. I honestly never really noticed smell being bad

It might be because I have a giant tub of it. I was dunking wooden carved plugs into it and curing them in a UV box. It was fine when it cured, but it reeked while it was still a liquid.

Florida cruised for most of the game.

They really did. they looked like they were at maybe 50, 60% effort.

I like Shakir, I made tonns of video with him for people who like him and for losers who dont.
I would not prefer to save him and Zetts for Mercer, its crazy and its bad revisiting. It was good in the trade day, now, when Meier is more healthy, it still looks good. When Shakir will start to play top-4 role regularly(if and when he will), we will have Nemec, Luke and Casey with some other defensemen and other good even if more simple LD in prospect pool. We knew in the moment that Shaq has potential to be top-4 D, you cant trade 26-27yo 30-40 goals scorer for Ty Smith, Butcher, Clarke and a couple of 5th round picks.

No, thanks. This team is soft, can't play defense, can't play on the boards. And we should save the players who is actually doing it.
Chemistry change. Aging Veterans carry their highest value at the deadline. Palat is not part of the young untouchables and has a fat overstay contract. A crafty GM will find a way to replace him with proper grit. We are losing hockey seasons again, we need changes and Palat isn't getting better or younger. Just my opinion.

It sounded like there were a lot of boos at the end of the game.

Good.

f*** this team.

And f*** Travis Green too.
And Madonna
Whoever we draft with that top 9 pick isn't going to help us anytime soon.

If you think the team should start seriously trying to compete next year, it needs to be on the table for potential trades
it can be on the table and that number 9 pick taken can be a big help in a few years too has to balance out on who it is moved for....That pick given up for Markstrom would look real bad....

I believe he will fire most of the stuff. Taylor should be fired too. New coach should have an opportunity to hire new guys or at least talk about candidates.
Its not like organisation should hire new specialists now, its not that easy when the hockey year is going on.
Clean house big defining moment for Fitz has to get it right

He has a NMC for another year if memory serves.

Reinhart got savaged by the Buffalo media, he was supposed to be the chosen one (this is before Eichel). Kind of similar to how we people had really high expectations for Zacha before Nico and Jack showed up.

He wasn't bad in Buffalo per se, but people had unrealistic expectations. They wanted him to be a top-10 NHL forward, an elite Hart caliber kind of guy and instead he was "just" a really good 1st liner.

But people called him soft, a whiner, entitled, not trying. Part of it was because the old guard in the Buffalo media would ask him tough questions and he didn't want to play their games, so he gave it right back to them. This made the old media types pout and write all these personal hit pieces about how bad he was as a person.

Fun Fact: This same Paul Hamilton blocked me on Twitter when I called him out for being a punk bitch when he made comments about Devils attendance.

The media ran him out of town with brooms and sticks. It was clear he wasn't going to re-sign in Buffalo so they traded him while they could.

Palat is our best two way player with Bratt. Go check metrics if you don’t trust. We need more of board battles wins, not less. And they are much closer with Hall in points to each other. So no, thanks, we need good all around player with good work ethic, not bad one.

While the Sabres media is, uh, special like that, I don’t know if you can blame them for a general player exodus that off-season.

The 20-21 season was a real nadir for the Sabres. Ralph Krueger was a terrible coach, just uniquely bad, and an off-putting weirdo as well.

The team went 15-34-7, which included a 0-15-3 streak. They were at a 12 game winless streak when Krueger was fired.

The players’ exit interviews were infamously feel bad.

Eichel had started the season with a lingering injury, and then got another injury and played with that, before going out with the neck injury. The fight over his surgery came out in his exit interview.

Ristolainen had a year left on his deal and Reinhart was a RFA a year away from UFA. Both made it clear they weren’t interested in staying longterm on non-playoff misery factory in their exit interviews.

And Sabres management basically had made their bed with Reinhart when they gave him a two year bridge deal and then a 1 year deal to avoid an arbitration hearing. If you are bad you need to lock up your top players long term early.

Ullmark left as a UFA that off-season as well, after 3 bridge deals.

New Jersey(No Fanz!)
NJ played a pretty good game last night. There was a lot of jam down low and in front that has been missing since the team was constructed. That will only get better when someone like Mercer is replaced with Palat.

The breakout passing has been bad and continued to be bad last night.
Hence why today's practice is being focused on 5v5 RUSHING, I imagine.

And Green alluded to this how the Devils players had issues making the passes and receiving them.

I mean...how many times have we seen attempted tape-to-tape passes that either were just ahead of the player (out of reach), behind the player, or hit the player in the skates leading to a turnover?

Those are the differences that play just as big a role as our Goaltending.
