Well every so often even a low offense team wins the low event game.

Nice they got the en goal to salt it away...Hawks been on thevother end of en goals often this season.

Dang, if we had finished up Anaheim this would be a pretty nice stretch. Take down a terrible team and follow it up by taking down a good team. Philly next, who’s meh, but we’re on the road. Winning is more fun lol

That was awful f***ing hockey. I don't want "defense" at the expense of all offense.
There was complaining with a team up 1-0 and thensome. That's literally all this roster can be. And it's with young guys in defensive roles, Bedard out with a lead late. Things people complained about last year... when there was no need to rush that. Now is a more apt time for that when you have patentice.

Every shift of vlasic, allen, or kaiser making some plays, breaking up chances and pushing the pick out is excitement to me, because that's what the future and success is built upon.

If you're not going to play 1-2-2 when you're good then don't play it to just stay in games. No one gives a f***. Its boring. Its dull, and its not how anyone good plays.

I’ve got some good news:

In a couple years the majority of the roster will look different, there will be a new head coach, and things will look much better/more exciting offensively. This is just the calm before the storm. We haven’t even drafted Hagens/Martone yet. And most of our current top prospects haven’t arrived yet either. So really what I’m saying is who cares how ugly things are now. So long as Bedard isn’t permanently ruined/tainted by our ineptitude which I don’t believe he is or will be no matter how frustrating this season gets.

Their defensive zone positioning is f***ing awful. They collapse way too low, which leaves the D wide open, and makes breaking out almost impossible.
All players also have a very tough time catching a ring around cleanly, then it cascades from there

They ring the puck WAY too much. Even when they have some space to take a stride and put it on the tape. That's a tough f***ing play even in beer league, because as soon as the D rings it, you're going to have a guy in your face immediately. Your only option is chipping it out.

This team's coaching is bottom tier.

I know he was against arguably the top defensive forward in the league all night... But not even a shot ATTEMPT for Bedard is just depressing.

Get this guy some help already.

That was a very depressing win. We may have a Bedard issue.

We have a coaching and roster issue more than anything else. It’s frustrating but Bedard has no help doubled down by some of the worst coaching imaginable.

Wish they’d at least call Dach up for some help, and if he’s not ready just send him back down.

Let Nazar marinate a little more in Rockford.

He was playing with a third line center, and a guy who belongs in the AHL, against a perennial Selke candidate and the defending Stanley Cup champion's top pairing.... They never had the f***ing puck.

They make offensive zone entries look really difficult, even when compared to other non-playoff or fringe playoff teams. They rarely enter the zone with speed; it's usually a pass to someone standing at the blue line who chips it in from there. The Panthers, like most teams, did a good job of swarming Bedard when he had the puck. Actually, most offensive zone possession has the other team doing a good job of swarming the puck carrier, whereas the Hawks seem to sit back, pack it in tight defensively and let the other team move the puck around the zone at will.

And for f***'s sake don't staple him on a line with grinders.

Anderson is a fringe 4th liner/AHLer.

The idea isn't a bad one IF they had a top line caliber version of a player who can play a heavy game, but they don't have much of that in the organization. Kurashev, Hall, and Reichel don't work well on the first line. Who else is an option? Nazar, Bedard, and Teravainen sounds ok, but who is retrieving pucks on that line? It's the same problem with what has already been tried with Kurashev and Hall.

This.

How anyone can fault Bedard for last night, when his coach was actively sabotaging him and his line with dogshit deployment, in a home game where you have last change... is beyond me.

Kane made a career of absolutely feasting on bad matchups, because teams had to pick their poison, either deploying their best line against Toews' line, or Kane's line, and either one would hurt you offensively no matter which option you chose. For a coach to purposely put his best offensive weapon against another team's best defensive line... is some serious f***ing headscratcher shit.

All of that is true. Hes still played 20 minutes not doing a thing. At some point it falls onto him to do anything.

Yes, it's on HIM to do something, when he's on a line with a guy who is barely a 3rd line C, and an AHL/13th forward tweener on the other wing, against the defending Stanley Cup champs' best defensive line(with a perennial Selke finalist) and their top D pairing. Like what? How about his dumb f*** coach actually puts top six players on a line with him? And how about his dumb f*** coach actually tries to get favorable matchups for him when he has last change at home?

Yes, hes playing against great players but he is supposed to be a great player as well. This is not the only game this has happened.

I know hes going to be a top tier player but last night wasnt good enough. Its starting to happen more and more.

Hes had 3 shots in the last 4 games.
