Not sure how many games he will get. I'd like to see Bob have some rest. But I think that finishing first in the division is really important. You don't want to face Tampa or Torongo in R1.

Nothing is easy in this league, but I'd feel more comfortable to play a team like the Jackets, Detroit or Ottawa.

Idk, if Chukky winds up being ready before expected, they could waive him and the cap hit might get him through. That would make sure Charlotte isn’t down a goalie after they recall Driedger.

In terms of UFA goalies on sellers there isn't much; Georgiev, Reimer, Sharek. Utah has Vejmelka, but they are a bubble team. It's very slim picking.

Of all the Czech goalies it had to be Vaněček? Meh.

OTOH, we gave up nothing and teams knew we needed a backup. If there wasn't a future n.1 on the market (basically, Knight), then this works for the rest of the season. Save at least *some* of our picks for the draft or future trades. If Bob goes down in the playoffs we're probably screwed, but was there anyone available who could fill in for him, who'd make sense long-term and who we could afford? I don't see it.

And who knows. Our staff have been good with the goalies recently. Driedger and Lyon were no-name guys too before they came here. I'm not expecting much, but we'll see.

Dostál, Vejmelka - Kometa Brno goalies. Cmon, Zito, draft some Kometa guys for us Probably not a goalie this year though, but we have produced some good NHLers recently. Ah well.

I know and I love that we take one every year with one of our low picks (statistically, there's little difference drafting goalies anywhere past round 1, and in round 1, the odds go up but so does your chance of finding an impact forward/Dman). I was just saying that there've been some good goalies coming out of the Kometa system recently, but this year looks like a bust in that regard.
