Ignoring your valuation of a trade. Thinking Andersson is going to sign in the 7M range when the cap will be over 100M at the start of his new deal is hilarious. Scoffing at him asking for 8x8 is also hilarious. In reality you can probably double his current cap hit and that is roughly what he will get, maybe a bit less.
What the Flames really need is a potential #1 centre. If that prospect isn't being offered, I don't see why the Flames are trading Andersson now. Unless the Flames finish bottom 10, which looks pretty unlikely given how bad many NHL teams are this year, the Flames aren't even improving their draft position, due to that Montreal deal.
If the offer is late 1st, B prospect, plus junk, the Flames are likely holding onto Andersson at least until the draft and possibly much longer.
They're probably looking for something similar to the Savoie trade. And yes players like that do get traded, hence the Savoie trade.
There's a difference between a potential #1 centre and a projected #1 centre. No one in their right mind thinks that Andersson is going to bring back prospect who everyone thinks will become a #1 centre. The Flames are looking for a guy with a #1 centre as a ceiling and a mid-range centre as a floor.
Ah yeah, if that 1st is in the 10-18 range it’s fair basis trade history but I am guessing you are a year light on the extension
What do the Stars even have available? Their 1st will be too low
As a sens Fan I would be willing to offer Norris + Yakemachuk + 1st for an extended Anderson
Not putting him on the table is fine.
... Still doesn't make him an A+ prospect lol.
I think he is a A or A+ type. It's early but I and many other Habs fans like what we see.

Hage is leading all players age 19 and under in the NCAA in production. And he's doing that on a team that is not stacked. He's basically the only pt/game player and at age 18... his first NCAA season. Yeah, this warrants a little hype bud if you had him, you would be pumping it up too.
The only thing I might say is he may be a RW at the NHL level. We see this so often and his style of game might be C/RW type. Someone like Beck is a true type center.
Is he going to be as good as Demidov?
Probably not. But I really do like both of them for different reasons. Demidov is like Blue Chip level. Hage is level below him. That's if they both reach their ceilings.
Like I said before, it don't matter. I very much doubt the Habs trade Hage. You can chime in as you wish but it has zero factor in the Andersson trade package we would offer. If you say Hage has to be in it, we are out. Other teams can try. Interested in Andersson with extension but not desperate.
What's your angle on this? To belittle the prospect grade on someone we don't have on the table in trade discussions?
I never said Hage had to be in on it.
I pointed out that calling Hage an A+ prospect is absurd and proved it by your own admission that he's not even on the level of somebody in your own pool.
I repeat, this is a side conversation that doesn't matter. Hage is not on the table and you should spare us with how I or other Habs fans are grading him. It's our prerogative, not yours.
When saying something ignorant, you're better off just admitting yeah, that was dumb, and moving on.
Rather than clinging to it out of stubbornness like you're doing right now...
I usually do not agree with crazy proposals from Habs Halifax, but I have to agree on Hage. James Hagens is supposed to be No1 of upcoming draft. Hage is having better offensive numbers, playing with way weaker linemates, he is bigger and he is just 7 months older. When saying something ignorant, you're better off just admitting "yeah, that was dumb", and moving on.

Maybe you can stop with this "we" and "us" stuff. You're speaking for yourself and not the team or the fan base. You try to make it sound so official and it's becoming weird.Like I said before, it don't matter. I very much doubt the Habs trade Hage. It's funny that Habs fans are obsessed with players' heights. You zero in on that, despite many other factors being relevant.5'-9" 180lb center? That's what you are after for a center prospect? I'm pretty sure Beck fits that narrative and his AHL numbers are very comparable to Savoie.

You are entitled to your opinions but not your own facts. I think you are clinging on to a conversation that should have ended yesterday but you carried it forward more. I'm just replying to your condescending questions that you hold as facts. It's just a simple disagreement and that is OK but then you post something like this above.
Pretty sure you will reply with more condescending comments now. If you do, you go on ignore mode. The choice is yours.
Yes, I'm carrying this stupid conversation forwardIt's my opinion yes. And I do believe Hage is not on the table from many Habs fans as well. Grade A or A or A-. It don't matter and all you are doing is carrying this stupid conversation forward more.
Some of you need to chill

It has nothing to do with my initial comment. It's not only the Habs fans. Most teams value the guys with size but also have skating/skill over the smaller guys. Especially at center. If you think it's only the Habs fans who do this, I think you should rethink it.
How many top 2C's in the NHL today that are 5'-9" and 180 lbs? Then quantify all the ones who didn't make it.
Where is the answer to the question? Do you agree or not agree that most Habs fans do not have Hage on the table?
