Rumor: Pagnotta: "Rasmus Andersson is open to a trade, he would welcome it" It would cost 3 assets...1st rnd pick, prospect, +

I think that’s an awful offer that is likely beat by most teams.

Probably... 1st, 3rd, Prospect (Raty) player (Hoglander) is not a low ball offer though

Canucks got Hronek for 1st and 2nd though. 1st being a 17th overall pick.

-Not all first rounders are the same though and Canucks with all of their injuries have a chance to not even make it in the playoffs and completely bomb out of the Pacific.

-Raty is still Canucks top 5 prospect and best C prospect. He is very much NHL ready and did well with the Canucks early this season. Like i mentioned, he is a two way C and his game and career is actually very similar to Backlund.

- Hoglander, dog house season for the young player. but the skills and tanicity is there. It depends how the Flames see the player. only 24 yrs old , already 3+ season of 10+ goals and 1 season of 20+ goals.

Given the standings it would be a gutsy move. It would also be an excellent example of a team and GM sticking to a plan regardless of where they are in year 2.

While I'm no fan of the organization itself (see all my comments about the arena deal) I do like what Conroy, as an individual GM, has done and is doing on the trade front.

If they are going to move Andersson I think it will be a good deal for both parties.

I also don't think three assets are out of the question if Conroy goes the pick-prospect-roster player route.

To Buffalo: Rasmus Andersson++
To Calgary: EP(+?)
To Vancouver: Byram + Cozens +

HF Crashes again. This time, permanently.
I don’t know why Buffalo would need a third team
If they want him, they have the assets to do it all by themselves without including those players

Assuming Calgary is looking for prospects
Rosen + joikiharu plus second would be a good offer. No need for the canucks

Buffalo should be all over it. Byram + 1st + a prospect. Byram is from Calgary. Andersson pairs with Dahlin and makes the Rasmus squared pair.
Looks too much for me. Byram seems to play decently together with Dahlin, but we are also adding some prospect (unclear what level) and our 1st, who riht now at top 5.

I think this is a pretty weak offer for a player like Andersson.

I am not sure if Buffalo is fit asset wise even if Andersson doesn't have them on his NTC. Their pick is too high and the Flames need center prospects. I wouldn't mind adding Byram though.

Hello Flames fans. I understand the Flames are in a playoff chase so probably won't trade Andersson until you know if you are out or in. If you find out you are likely on the outside looking in come TDL, are you open to trading Andersson?

What's the price and type of return? Futures based? My offer would be around something like this below but we have to be able to get assurances from Andersson he is very much interested in extending.

Habs 1st

* lottery protected
* Probably falls 10-16 range

Newhook
* Young NHL proven piece you can use now
* Still RFA after his current bridge deal
* More like a middle 6F who is a winger that can play center (if required)
* Habs have a winger like Roy and probably will need to create room for him at some point. Don't hate Newhook but not sure he fits our cap structure after his bridge deal.

Mailloux
* RD prospect with top 4D upside
* Big body that skates well and has a great shot
* Needs to mature on the D side

Possible other adds
* 2nd round pick maybe

Listening to the clip, this sounds like it’s more of Pagnotta thinking this or that, instead of anything Andersson has said

There has been rumours floating around that Andersson does not want to stay through a rebuild, so it wouldn't surprise me

Well, we have the center prospects and I'm not really against trading our 1st, I'm just not sure Andersson is worth the candle at this stage. We can't extend his contract early and he doesn't have much term. I think a Dahlin - Andersson pairing would be better than a Dahlin - Byram pairing, but there are risks.

Raty is 22 and played 35 nhl games

At the same time Backlund was 22 he had 97 nhl games and was a full time NHLer

His career so far is not similar to backlunds. Raty needs to start playing consistently in the NHL or his value will start to go down. It might not be his fault but if he was following backlund's career he should be in over Teddy Blueger and Max Sasson

I'd take Lambert or Yager. I think he'd go to Winnipeg if he thinks they can win
But would he extend…if I knew for certain he’d be willing to extend in WPG, I’d be a lot more willing to discuss prospects like Lambert and Yager

As an outsider, Buffalo has Ostlund, Helenius, Wahlberg, Kulich all as center prospects. They have Byram as a potential odd man out with Dahlin and Power being LHD signed long term, and Byram being from Calgary probably signs there pretty easily. Maybe Sabres can do protection on the pick so that if it’s top 10 it slides to the following year. Andersson seems like a great fit for Buffalo to balance their top-4 and get a little more of experience in the room. Just my $.02.
