Before I pick.. can someone update me on wild injury situation? Feel like they were elite.. got a bunch of big injuries. Then weren't elite. Are those guys back for playoffs?
Yes, but not 100%. Kaprizov in particular isn't up to speed but he missed nearly half the season. I'm not convinced he was actually physically ready to come back yet.

Is he close? I have this theory wild are poised for an upset if all guys are healthy.
Not based on how he looked tonight. Realistically probably won’t be a full version of himself until next year. Skating is a little less explosive. Hands are off. Timing is off. Strength is a bit off. Checks out for a guy who had surgery on his lower/mid body earlier this year.

Going off how they looked fighting for a playoff spot against Anaheim, I'm saying Knights in 5.

The quality just isn't there yet. Kaprizov isn't fully healthy.

They iced a full lineup tonight, but there's multiple guys that don't look close to 100%. Probably felt forced to play them because they backed into the postseason. And then there's other guys that look gassed from Hynes overusing his top players game in and game out. I doubt there's any significant extra gear for the playoffs. They left it on the ice for their playoffs (the regular season).

I'm not seeing much optimism in my answers lol.

I hope I'm wrong. I don't particularly like Vegas and Minny is due for a playoff run.

Never say never but it would be a complete 540 from what they look like now. I've never seen a team limp into the playoffs this hard. The team that's played the last couple weeks or even month is not a playoff team.

Faber & Gus are beat up and have been ridden like rented mules all year. Kaprizov is clearly rusty as hell. Buium apparently isn’t good enough to risk breaking up the 3rd pair of Merrill/Bogosian.

Don’t like our chances against a Vegas team that has a blueline full of 6’5 guys who can skate and defend along with Jack Eichel
C'mon, Buium has had what, one practice with the team? Maybe some systems to learn?

He and JEE came back 4 games ago. JEE looks good, Kaprizov ok, but the timing is off. He is also trying to do too much.

The lines are jumbled, the PP is running 5 forwards in a not very successful fashion .... not a bad team, but not running on all cylinders, and even if they were, they wouldn't have enough for a Cup run.

Yeah.....we're screwed. My only hope is to see Buium, but I'm not confident the coach will scratch one of his "favorites" to allow it.

Easy sweep for Vegas.

The Wild getting Kaprizov and Eriksson Ek back in time has the potential to make this interesting. But I think Vegas’ depth at every position is too much to overcome. I picked the Golden Knights in 5.

I think there is a fighters chance for this Wild team to make an impact in these playoffs, lots of guys have had step up moments the past few seasons, and there is at least some game breaking talent available this time.

This will be a hard matchup for Kaprizov at the moment, but Boldy and JEE are both poised to make a big impact. I think Rossi and Zuccarello will be the keys if the Wild are to succeed, they will need to overcome quite the size disadvantages in this series, but both have shown the kind of heart and minds to still make plays when it matters.

The Wild forward depth is very solid defensively if a bit offensively inept, still their physicality could play well in this series. The Defense will have their work cut out for them, but Faber fills a lot of roles that had been lacking in past playoff attempts and they do have a full cast of 6+ that are playable. If we see Buium, that could be another potential impact. The Wild D are going to pressure quick transitions and keep Vegas on their toes in this one, the neutral zone battles are going to loom large in deciding this series IMO.

Gus has shown flashes of excellent play this season, when he is on, he can be a major difference maker among the top peaks in the league, so that possibility alone is where you give the Wild at least a chance of going on a run, however slim.

I don't know what the golfing situation is like is like in Minnesota, but if they can book Tee times for the Golden Knights during the games, they have a good shot at this, slip a couple brochures for sales at the pro shop onto the Vegas bench and this team will be so distracted.

Over/Under on how many post whistle shots to the face JEE gets? Too bad MN isn't playing WPG. JEE and Nino would smell each others gloves at a record setting pace.
