P.K. Subban the only All-Star

The fans voted him cuz they love him, it would be pretty bad if he didn't go.

Also now they suspend guys who skip who are not legit injured.

Sure, everybody loves Jagr. What's not to like about a 43-year-old legend still holding more than his own against players who could be his kids?

Underperforming but still playing at a high level. Gets way too much scrutiny to his game compared to other dman in the league.

DD is not a better "business decision" Geez

If subban had the same assists but with 5 more goals no one would be saying anything he's obviously snake bitten when it comes to scoring since he's shooting at less than 1% it's unsustainable and people who go overboard bashing subban as if his contract isn't justified don't just look foolish you look dumb.

Is he underperforming? Yes. Is it as bad as everyone is making it seem? Nah

Sit down, relax, and look up the meaning of the word sardonic.

imho; They should dump the stupid All-Star Game and just have a weekend of skills competitions. They're more fun to watch and you can see the players enjoy them as well.

That's what they are actually kinda doing. 3vs3 is closer to skills competition then a hockey game.

I guess this reflects the sorry state our team is in.....

How is it a sorry state? Through the first 20 games of the season we never relied on one player or line, not even Price. We've always had one line step up and deliver goals, and when the opposition keyed on them, another line took the open ice and delivered. The bad news is this means we dont really have a gamebreaker, but you dont need a gamebreaker if you're getting goals from the entire lineup.

Subban is invited, but by the players association, and not for his play of late. It's for getting that $9M per year contract for seven years.

At the rate he is going, that is some expensive goal. Although, if using total points, 27 points at the season mid point equates to ($4,500,000/27=) $166,667 per point. Nice job if you can get one.

Meanwhile Desharnais has 21 points and his cost is ($1,750,000/21=) $83,333 per point. Obviously the better business choice.

have you taken the ratio conversion between a D and a forward?

the Actual ratio is F leader divided by D leader
59/42 (Kane/Karlsson) = 1.40

so 27 pts * 1.40 = 38 pts

4.5 mil / 38 == $118 421 per point.

Absolute player cost is player cost, forget adding adjustment jumble. He costs what he costs. BTW, see post #31.

Subban's hasn't been that bad. Easily best player on this team this season.

Makes sense since Price is out, but damn. Speaks volumes about this team when Subban is the only one and he's been playing downright awful for a month.

He hasn't been downright awful. He's been average. We take for granted how good his is overall. Is he playing up to his salary? No. But he's still a very good player.

What is the point of comparing DD and PK salaries? This logic here is moot. PK plays top pairing minutes and is a team leader. DD plays sheltered minutes and still under produces. Gomez has a better points/60 than DD and was just released.

We should send DDH. Therrien would be so proud that he would announce his retirement that his boy finally made it.

Based on the last 20 games I'm not surprised he was the only one invited.

Hopefully all the whiners who dislike the ASG will shut up and not post their same repetitive crap in this thread? "I hate something therefore everyone else should!!!"

Since the game will be 3 on 3 a guy like Byron and his hockey speed would be better than some of the star players.
