PK still has some value, but that contract pulls it down like an anchor. Gonna require retention to move him IMO.

Dbl retention to $2.5 and real dollars at less than $1M. He'll have value.

Retain 50% and you might get a 7th. There are very few teams in contention that have the cap space to take on PK. IF they do they aren't paying for a $4.5 million for a 4-6 defenseman when I am sure there are plenty avaialable for less.

I was not a fan of the trade to bring Subban to NJ or his play since, but his personality has never been an issue with his team and he appears to be well liked.

This narrative is so tired. He’s an eccentric person and player, that’s it. Maybe the dinosaurs in the NHL like whoever was on NBC during the SCF that berated him for dancing during warmups don’t like that, but he’s himself.

Now as a player, he’s not who he once was. He’s definitely lost some speed and he isn’t as flashy because of it. He can still give you solid third pairing minutes, fill in on special teams, and his shot is a threat. Some team is going to bite on that who needs a 3RD, but it’ll probably happen only with double retention at 2.25AAV.
