Core: Forsberg, Josi, Saros
Secondary: March, Stamkos, Skjei
Prospects: next gen...

It's not hard to identify our next core group

Didn't you hate the Askarov pick? Because we drafted Finley in 99?
No I did not hate the puck because it made sense. Develop the replacment for Saros.
No of those guys you mentioned will be core guys in 5 years. Foresbetg May still be in the league but his age will force his role as less significant. Stammer will likely be retired, Josi will probably be retired as well. Saros will be finished as a starter at best he will be a back up but likely retired. Not Sure what March will have left but his age supports he would be bottom 6 by then.

So where are the guys that will be core 5 years from now. That has to be what Trotz is focusing on. I mean he has loaded up with future draft picks to use or to trade is argumentative. Since the development system is in a struggle.
Take a CB look at the ages of the roster guys now by adding 5 years. It looks pretty nasty. And I like veteran players. The current core are now in the win now age bracket. That's why Stammer chose Nashville thinking he would have a chance for another run or two about the same for March and Shri. Unless they can turn this ship around showing promise before the trade deadline it could well be in their best interest to be traded, this could also benifit Trotz down the road. Josi is going nowhere but the rest could including Forsberg.

How is everyone on this board not creating a Twitter account to set the record straight? This is why Nashville is the sports market it is. Only this city would let the media we have create the narrative it does. An absolute joke.

“A GREAT TRADE”, they say!
Emma is trying to explain the inexplicable, which is both difficult and absurd.

You don't give away a player to "trade him" for another player already in the organization. That's obvious poppycock.

She's right though that it has been transparent for a long time that Bruno had written all of our younger guys off completely and they were never going to get a chance to play here. Coincidentally, I believe they have all landed on their skates with their new teams and shown they can play in this league. (Even Wedgie has a better save % and has compiled a winning record. Just ... wow.)

The appeal to authority argument is laughable. Talk about senseless. You are what your record says you are, and the authority here has turned a bubble playoff team into hot garbage and is burning through his reserves, that he signed, at a brisk clip. Name one other struggling NHL team that has gotten rid of 5 newly signed young players (we're not even to mid-season yet) and kept their coach to boot.

So the only answer based on the facts of what has happened is that we'll keep on Trotzenetting: paying grizzled free agents for their past accomplishments, sticking the old dogs into the new tricks systems, and waiving our farm. In 4 to 5 years, perhaps enough of the current cast will be broken to be on LTIRetirement or gotten Trotz to trade them out of the tank brigade somehow. There are only so many 50% retention slots though. So the big brain plan may have more consequences.

TBH with this group I don't think it would matter, they see and hear what they want to see and hear and everyone else they just slap the " don't know hockey " tag on. Trotz got a ton of pressure from the outside, even some of the local media to fire Brunette and he brushed it off like it didn't exist.

It doesn't matter what we think or even what the media says when the GM can pretty much do whatever he wants and the owners go along with it.

The only thing that may lead them to change direction is for people to stop going to games, to stop buying Preds products, and stop supporting their sponsors. Maybe that will do it, but I'm not even convinced that would get this group of owners off their asses and actually do something for once.

I think most sports media are useless at this point. They rely on access to generate the clicks to keep ad revenue up. If they rock the boat they lose that level of access and serve no purpose to their publisher. A Helene Elliott or Larry Brooks could get away with it because they are institutions and will walk/have walked away at any point, but Emma, Alex, etc.. are just going to toe the line and try to spin the scraps they get (and the org isn't going to answer any "tough" questions anyway).

As you say the only potential accountability will come if the org starts seeing hits to revenue...and that's going to be a bit of a slow burn.

I don't say this lightly: I'm really curious to watch how Parsnip develops with MacKinnon and Colton mentoring him. Those are two guys who can really level up Parsnip IMHO.

I believe he will be a 40pt third line center. At most, but that's more than likely better than our 3rd round pick will turn out to be.

Evangelista is next. Mark my words.
hes already proved to be a 40 pt 2nd line center in 2022-2023

Speaking of revenue, the Sabres long, slow tanking has impacted their attendance, which has steadily and continuously declined as the tank drags on and on. And Buffalo is an old hockey town. But even with that pressure, it's not like Pegula can flip a light switch on and instantly improve the team and put butts back in the seats. It's still a huge mess and an unattractive losing destination for free agents, coaches, ... on down to hot dog vendors. In short, if you wait for fans to disappear at big levels, you've already missed the boat and the rebuild curve looks exponentially more difficult.

I feel bad for you preds fans. I remember 10 years of Marc Bergevin as GM. He was a bad GM. I just don't understand whats Barry Trotz do since the beginning of his tenure... you deserving better. David Poile was a master GM. Can't believe, he left. Where is he??

I'm not getting into it with Daughtery, who I usually don't mind. He comes back to my comments of Pars being a piece of the puzzle with 17 points in 59 games. I'm like, the coach admitted to his poor development. His point totals are equal to or better than 47,36&10 this year in half the games. It's like, you want to use points as your argument and it's easy to counter. But hey, who's going to kill penalties if we move on from these three.

I’d wager Poile is still heavily involved with the team. I think the only reason he “retired” is that he saw the writing on the wall with a new ownership group coming in, so he retires and pretty much “picks” his successor in Trotz. Not one upper management team member was changed in the “transition” from Poile to Trotz. His name, should we had won one, would have been on the Cup. To me, this management team is just an extension of the Poile regime. Poile was playing some 4D chess during the transition.

He's an advisor. From the looks of things, cricket noises are also advisors.
An “advisor” that is still listed on the management team staff.

I'd bet he isn't as involved as you imagine. Poile retired because he didn't want to mess with rebuilding another roster which he knew needed a complete overhaul. If he was all that invested in being that involved he never would have retired to start with.

The reason none of the rest changed was because Trotz had no experience in any form or fashion running and NHL franchise. They take care of most of that while he picks it up as he goes.

We knew there wasn't going to be some great change in upper management, the reason the owners brought Trotz in is because they didn't want to change anything. They wanted a " Preds guy "

I'll put it this way. If I'm the boss of Poile and Trotz in the current configuration, I'd call them each individually into my office for 1 on 1 meetings. I already know the answers. Still I ask them for their honest assessment of how things are going with our product. Each of them is required to answer that question with a medium to long term plan or I'm ticked off. Additionally, I ask Poile for an honest assessment of how Barry is doing. If I don't get the right answer and complete transparency, Poile is gone and Barry is pushing the cart with their boxes right out the door with him.

Hey fellas, hope you might answer a few questions.

- Is Parssinen able to play at 3C right now?
- Is he pass-first or shoot-first?
- How is his defensive game?
- Would you consider him a good skater?

Thanks kindly
