I have a theory about Maple Leafs. The current owners don’t care about winning. They just want to maximize income and that’s why we have so many “stars” in our roster. They want to enter the Chinese market and be like the Lakers or Manchester United.

Nothing sells like Championship caliber teams with an abundance of championships and a winning attitude backed by statistics. So they would be very silly stupid owners if they did not try to win it all.

They do want to win but the biggest mistake they did was letting Tim Liewieke go as CEO of MLSE. He actually held the franchises accountable and things were turning around under him.

The board 100% cares about winning.

The playoff revenue in a city like Toronto is well worth the effort. Plus, it also legitimizes the team's brand making it an even greater marketing powerhouse in the region.

You welcome new fans, new money, and new opportunities as everyone wants to attach themselves to a winner.

Yep, buying a winning team is so easy. Thats why we had so many cups since 1967.
