With there being an unbalanced schedule this is bound to happen. Teams will play out of conference opponents a minimum of two times (one home, one away) while the majority of teams play intra-conference teams a minimum of four times (including two games at home and two on the road. Intra-divisional teams will play each other up to six times and in a number of cases, closest rivals will play each other up to eight times.Think it’s time to change up the schedule and how many times we play certain teams. I don’t get why we don’t play Sarnia more often? It’s in the same conference. But we have to play Barrie 6 times a year? Seems unfair because Barrie is usually very good. I get travel but isn’t Sarnia only like 2 hours away?
I’m just tired of seeing Barrie 8 times a season. I’d rather see them play an extra game or two within someone from the same conference. And it’s usually unfair because Barrie is a force most years. Ya I get it’s a close rival but I’d rather see them play more within the conference and extra game against Windsor or Sarnia. With there being an unbalanced schedule this is bound to happen. Personally, I look at it the other way around. The difficulty of the Attack schedule I believe makes them a better team in the long run. You have to elevate your game to beat the top end teams and when you play them more regularly it means you raise your standards and expectations. Hard lessons learned, especially this year with a young team, but I strongly believe the Attack are better for it.I’m just tired of seeing Barrie 8 times a season. No I get that.. But the rivalry is within the Conference no? Ya the east vs east is fun to watch I just don’t see the benefit of playing an East team 8 times. Hence I’d rather play a western conference team more. Like wouldn’t it be better to say this time of year play a game against either Sarnia or the SOO compared to play Barrie? Like 8 times vs Barrie seems extreme.Personally, I look at it the other way around. The difficulty of the Attack schedule I believe makes them a better team in the long run. Owen Sound clinches a playoff spot with a win tomorrow night against Kitchener. No chance they don't go hard to win. I would suspect they have their eye on the 7th seed at this point rather than just squeaking in.What a HUGE win tonight. Like most nights thank god for Carter George!! I dunno how to play the next two games. Not saying go through the motions tomorrow but save some legs for the winnable game on Saturday against Guelph
The only way that could happen is if they played a double header against the Soo , due to travel. No I get that.. But the rivalry is within the Conference no? The additional cost to stay overnight at some of those teams ( Windsor, Sarnia, Flint, Saginaw), i.e would be rolled into your ticket price .I don’t think a Western Conference team should play an Eastern Conference team more than any other team from the Western Conference. OS should play Barrie twice. Home and Away.
Compared to last year's team, this one could get 27 wins vs 29. To me that is a win .If only the boys could keep that first period effort going longer, but great to see them squeak that out. McDonald with one of the spiciest cellies we've seen this season (and thank god the team held on after that) and it's great to see the desperation from the vets - you know it means so much to get playoff games.
It wouldn’t be an over night trip to Windsor or sarnia? They would bud home and be back in town by 1am. All I’m saying is I’m sure there has to be a way that we don’t play Barrie 8 times a year. As for for ticket prices I’m sure gradually over time they will be increased. Fans will pay to see them pay next year and fans will pay just to see Carter George.T

Sarnia, round trip with a Timmies stop each way, is almost 8 hours travel
Windsor over nine .
That means an additional overnight trip, which adds a lot of expense.
Are fans willing to pay extra on tickets to cover that extra ?

I just don’t find the benefit of playing an eastern conference team 8 times in a season. When it’s so hard to make up ground on a western conference team in the standings. Like does any other western conference team besides maybe the SOO play an eastern conference team 8 times in a season?I think I've done Owen Sound to Windsor in nice weather in 4 hours and a bit. In the OHL world, that is 100 percent a hotel night the night before, at least that's the standards that the team has had in the past. Sarnia would be touch and go, but generally if you go down there for 1 team, you go for another.
Personally Ive never heard anyone complain about playing Barrie as much as they do, but I don't talk to everyone so.

Sorry Erie plays Niagara.. and that is unfair compared to Owen sound playing Barrie. Ya you like to play good teams and it helps the team but come on.. seems unfair to me.
I don't follow .Sorry Erie plays Niagara.. and that is unfair compared to Owen sound playing Barrie. Ya you like to play good teams and it helps the team but come on.. seems unfair to me.
Who would you rather play 6 times? Barrie or Niagara? lolI don't follow .
Can you expand why you think it's 'unfair' that Owen Sound plays Barrie 6 times ?
