“That’s on Teddy and he knows that but that’s hockey and he understands that’s his job. I’ll use him again. I’ll go to war for a guy like that who competes for his teammates every single night. He would do anything for his teammates.” “I’d protect him with my life. I love the kid. Honest to God, he’s a great teammate, a great person and he works hard,” Hill said. “I couldn’t say enough good things about Teddy Sawyer.”

Some telling quotes from coach Hill about Sawyer. Clearly they are very high on him. He's been a warrior for them this year.

Also Coach Hill made it clear the goal tending duties are very much up for grabs. They are looking for one of them to step up and claim the starter's role.

Not the prettiest hockey game last night but they battled back twice from two goal deficits to earn a point against a very good Barrie team. Barlow extends his goal streak to 8 games and Burroughs stays hot. On to London Friday night.
The boys clearly have no issues scoring. The last 5 games out of 6, scored 27 goals and 9 of 10 pts .
Just have to clear up d-zone

Just need Chenard to get back to that .920 save goalie he was before the injury. Even just a 900/905 would be great. Votary is good but its hard to be a starting goalie at that age unless you're elite.

Those are telling quotes and this poster 100% agrees. I have maintained for many years "Hockey is the game of mistakes" How many Championships at all levels have been awarded due to a "mistake" can't count that high can we? Bottom line I was a bit critical of the Colts for there lack of movement at the deadline but tat is a very solid hockey club and if they play solid hockey they can compete in the East.

Agreed if Nick can regain that mojo and be north of .900 I think we are in a good spot.

They need to do a better job clearing the front of the net. The goalies have been beat clean from distance on screens or deflections in front. Hard to stop what you can't see. I think if they help their goalies see the puck and tie up the sticks in front they will get the saves.

.900% is above average in this league. .910 plus is elite. If they can get some consistency around the .900-905 range with the odd .910+ game in there they are going to win a lot of games.

Agree on the D zone. They need to have #9 stop paying with the puck and be more sure of his passes. Stay playing defense, not skating up to score and get caught out of position. He is a decent player but not the super star he and others think he is. Coughs up puck too many times. Him and Seed should not be paired up.
just my opinion

Just back from vacation and missed the last 3 games so can't really comment on them other than a couple wins vs easy teams and thankfully got a point vs Barrie as the 3 games this weekend might be the toughest test of the season.

I've been saying ^^^^^ about 9 all year long OSattackfan! I can only guess that he likely played similar minutes to Brandt Clarke the other night as that is how this coaching staff view him for some reason.

I was absolutely shocked and saddened to learn that we traded 22 away. He was one of my favourites and definitely a fan favourite in general. How do we trade him away over 24, 5, or 6? And with him now gone they are still not dressing 2? But I guess 30 wins is more important than developing and getting better for next year?

I think 3 of 6 points would be a reasonable goal for this weekend.

Putting that 9-1 drilling behind us and thinking about the positives we took 5 out of 8 possible points this week against extremely good teams. Ill gladly take that against those teams any time. Sure there is room for improvement but 5/8 is decent enough considering.

And forgot to add that we are now back up to 3rd in the confrence and only 6 points back of London again although they have a few games in hand. Oh and for those others counting lol we only need 7 more to reach that big 30 win milestone again…

This was a long tough week with plenty of distractions .
The boys outperformed my expectations.

Well done !

Great job navigating a tough week for the Attack picking up 5 of 8 possible points. Thought they bounced back strong on Saturday against the Petes after getting shellacked Friday night in London. Today against Ottawa may have been their best, most complete game of the year. Ottawa was credited with 33 shots on net but I thought the Attack did a great job keeping them to the outside and blocking the shots and passing lanes. They did a nice job of capitalizing on their chances in the offensive zone when the opportunities came.

Votary had a great performance on Saturday, probably the best game he's had in an Attack uniform. He turned away several high danger shots on his way to 42 saves on 46 shots. I was surprised he started against Ottawa due to how busy he was against Peterborough but showed well again. Hopefully he can run with the positive momentum of beating two very good opponents. His puck handling is a major asset for the defense in setting them up for the break outs.

The top three lines for the Attack are looking really good right now. Hookey and Lawrence mesh well together and Papais seems to be enjoying the extra room on the ice with his talents. With the tight games the fourth line didn't see very much action and Rogers minutes were carefully managed but they didn't get into trouble on the ice against tough competition.

Sorry I live between Barrie and Toronto and was just thinking, why is Niagara in the central division. Them dudes have to drive up the 401 (worst highway) then cross over to the 400 to play most of the teams in the division
Niagara can use 403 to 407. Realignment would harm as many teams as it would benefit I think.
Ideally Owen Sound would be in a division with other Hwy 6 teams Guelph, Kitchener, and Hamilton; maybe, one of three 6-7 team divisions with Niagara & Erie as well.
The most glaring outlier is Hamilton in the east.

My hometown team probably benefits from the current division makeup as it's in the middle of all the opposing divisional teams but it's absolutely ridiculous that Niagara plays in the same division as Sudbury. One is basically in southern Ontario and the other is in northern Central Ontario. Also I'm pretty sure they can just take the 407 to the 400 and avoid the 403 altogether
