I think Soo and Owen Sound could be good trade partners. Soo needs an OA forward, and has too many '04 defensemen. Maybe OS can find an '04 D amongst ours that they think can play in their top 4?
I don't see a fit personally. I could see Soo looking at Owen Sound's F OAs but I don't think the Soo non import 04s are any better than what Owen Sound has currently. I think Owen Sound's preference would be a deal with an eastern conference team in my opinion.

I think they need a true difference maker on the back end, a top pairing type. Im not sure that Toms or Van DeVan are any better then the internal options. Madden Steen has warts, but I think he's just as good as Toms and probably better then all the other guys. Any D trade they make will be for a very established top pairing guy.

Its thinner then most due to alot of draft day trades. They pick up guys like Burroughs, George, etc by moving a few future picks to make sure they get him. I like that strategy vs moving 15 and 3 players for 5 roster players.

The Attack dont really need that many roster players this year in theory, they probably need a secondary forward and a top 4 D. I don't think they will need to do what Sarnia, Kitchener, etc have done in the past.
A pretty good assesment I'm hoping for a top 4 d man preferably a Staniz type to play alongside #9 if you remember Matt was a solid stay at home guy that allowed Blacker to do what he did best. If one of our returning guys can step up and be that guy even better. At forward I'm waiting there I see some guys that I believe are going to take steps forward. I don't want to put pressure on him but Hookey is 1" taller and 7 lbs heavier but he looks leaner so he's added some muscle. Even though I had no issue with his skating it's obvious to me he has worked hard on it during the summer.

It'll be interesting to watch as the season progresses. It seems like patience will be required this year as the team has limited assets with only two 2nds and three 3rds available which would completely empty the cupboards. It seems like the OA market is a little soft so not sure what kind of return they may get when the dust settles on that situation. I'm thinking roster players will mostly likely need to be involved to maintain some of the draft picks for future seasons.

Could be the team starts well and they decide to hold pat on additions all together.

Maybe I’m late to the party but I just noticed that the Saturday home games are 7pm starts and not 730 anymore

No more home 7:30pm starts. You'll have to pay attention as there are a few 4pm Saturday starts mixed in at home as well. First one is Oct 28th against Kitchener if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like Barlow had a decent night last night with the tying goal late in regulation followed up by a tying shootout goal which led up to the win

Yes and he was involved in some plays that gave the Jets some good looks and looked pretty defensively sound. I think the Jets and there fans can be happy with getting a player and person like Colby Barlow. They did a cool little skate along get to know Colby interview that they showed during the 2nd intermission.

In Ottawas game against Devils Jackson Stewart had a little tilt with Danill Misyul a 2000 birth with 190 gms in the KHL. Stewy held his own I call it a draw. What I saw forwarding thru the Game Jackson didn't look out of place looked to be playing a pretty simple game. Hopefully he brings that game back here thats all we need him to do. This time with the Sens can do nothing but help his confidence and developement.

Hes a very effective player when he plays the way that made him effective, hard and keeping others honest. He gets in trouble with bad penalties (which is part of having him on the team), but worse when he thinks that he's a skill guy and not a mean intimidator. Play to his strengths, he can be a vital member of the team, just need to be used the right way and in the right situations.

He had a huge hit along the side boards that was audibly picked up on the broadcast mic that about sounded like a car wreck lol. I think he showed well, doing what he does best. If you saw the video on the Attack homepage with Jackson he talks about understanding what you are as a player and doing it to the best of your ability rather than trying to be something that you're not. I think he knows what he is and has 100% bought into being the best he can be in that role. There's still a role for that type at the next level and if you look at the rest of the roster Ottawa brought in, it's very evident that teams are still looking for those players. It will be interesting to see how he develops this season. His confidence should definitely be high coming off a pro camp.

I'd love to, you have his number? If I was that close I'd probably call him. Or broken the news of his tryout opportunity. I also am happy for him.

I think the general message from myself and others is that we get it, you love the player. Nothing wrong with that, there are plenty of reasons why. But there are plenty of very good players on the team and for whatever reason, Stewart is the main topic of conversation, driven by yourself.

I would think that Barlow or Guindon should probably take up more of the conversation so to speak on here, but for whatever reason that doesn't really happen.

We love Jackson too for what he does and how he plays, but if he's the 9th or 10th best forward on the team, his ice time or lack there of shouldn't be the constant topic.

Whats so wrong with talking about other players you like on the team as well?

Jackson Stewart on to Sens main camp
Must've improved his skating;)
The Attack found a replacement for there retired powerskating coach late last season a very accomplished skater herself. The players she was working with all loved her but apparently Jackson bought into her lessons 110% and I noticed an improvement by the end of the season.

I personally don't have an issue with the talk about Stewart. I'm glad to see he is showing improvement and the sens camp should do nothing but motivate him. Sure chatter about other players might be nice once in a while but seeing fans comment on here is nice regardless of the topic. We are all here as fans we all have certain players that may hold a special place to each of us and not always are they the absolute star of the show. Remember the fact that players in the OHL are members of a fairly small group that got to move on to such high class hockey with a chance to get even better along the way. I don't know the exact numbers but I don't think the percentage of young kids growing up playing hockey make it to the major junior leagues is overly high so kudos to every single one that even attends training camp and extra kudos to the ones who make a career out of it.

Oh I agree, I just get a bit overwhelmed by the constant blind promotion is all. It reads like a parent who sees no issues with a son, I don't pretend to know if that's the case and kind of tease a bit in good fun, but it can be a bit much from time to time.

Personally I prefer to see a more well rounded look at a player and a team, but perhaps Im on an island from that perspective.

You are aware that Jacksons dad played pro hockey -- I'm pretty sure he isn't creeping around HF Boards to hype his kid.

All 7 Attackers off to main camps!!
Where did you see Montreal's camp roster? The one on their team website doesn't show Guindon but I'm not positive that's the whole list. LA Kings only taking 28 players due to the exhibition games in Melbourne Australia. I'm assuming they have something in North America for everybody else but haven't been able to see anything official for how they plan to work around that whole scenario. Everybody else I've seen confirmation that they are moving on to main camps. Sounds like James Petrovski showed well with the Rangers based on some of the comments online.

Montreal posted the camp roster and Guindon is listed.
