Is he one of the answers? Because nothing of his development or even draft pedigree screams "team leader". And that's ONE of the answers for what ails this organization. I would love to see him completely break his shell and become something different than what he is, but I don't have any faith he will do so.

According to Pegula he is. And I agree with you.

It's fascinating to see how a handful of unicorns have just completely warped people's conception of how long defensemen take to develop. Adams put him in a position to fail by not finding an actual veteran defenseman to pair with him, when he gets run out of town for pocket link it will blow up in our faces worse than Bikini Atoll.
It’s almost as amazing as how many people allow the physical side of the game influence their belief a player is ready for the NHL game more than the mental side of the game, when the mental side of the game takes the longest to develop and strengthen.

He needs a mentor in the worst way. Nobody on the current roster is it (Dahlin included), and I suspect last year Kevyn thought Erik Johnson foolishly would be it.

Shoot, we are still needing a mentor for Dahlin, not only for a 1st pairing role, but also for the captaincy and leadership now. (Would've loved to have Josi here for that role)

Never been a big fan of Power, but he's on the team, so they need to deal with providing the sources and structure among one another to help develop him. Just based on everything I've seen, we're going to have to hope the next management team sees the obvious holes.

Luke Hughes got Pesce as his mentor almost immediately.

Dahlin and Power - nothing

This just shows how idiots our GMs are.
