There is no way Beck is taller than Suzuki. I refuse to believe that.

Why? If Beck remains the 2C it’s because he’s “doing the job”…
Be very aware of those players who possess elite drive + work ethic + hockey IQ + quick study ability
I’m really looking forward to how this works out, I’m not betting against Beck - always felt there was ROR comparables…

8 games and no goal yet... Bust ! Send that punk to Laval or even better, to Trois-Rivières! And please all of you, stop with the Danault or ROR comparables, 2 of the best defensive centres of the NHL. What a disappointing player !
Because he is more of a 3-4C? Has he show any flash of elite offensive to be a top 6? Like i said, he could handle couple of games in the top 6. But playing as our 2C for a whole season at the age of 21 only? I don't see it. Hope Kent trade or sign a 2C.
Beck could one day develop and play as second line center. I don't see it happening next year. Maybe in his prime year (24 +). ROR? Come on... he will be lucky if Beck has 50% of ROR skill and defensive ability. He is one of the league best 2 way center.
If we want to make the playoff next year, we will need a better 2C than Owen Beck.

Jury is still out on Beck's full potential, he has only played a total of 9 career NHL games! I do not believe any expert on this board predicted that Suzuki would be the center on an NHL first line. He played there because there was no option at the time. He has done well! Habs do not have a number 2 centre, so Beck is playing the position. He may succeed or not. Let him play, who knows?

Beck won’t be 2C next season.
They waited 2 seasons for Dach. Big setback. They aren’t gonna wait for another prospect. They’ll go with a proven player. (At least on 2nd contract).
Down the road Beck can compete with Hage for the 2C. It will be a while tho.
