Overages for 2024-2025

I know at this point I shouldn't be surprised that you said something that was completely wrong, but Roobroeck has not been scratched once this year. Literally not one time.. When is he doing this sitting in the press box? On off days?
He won’t be back. You can delete his name off Oshawa’s OA’s

5 teams with 4 OA’s Brampton with one empty spot. Looks like 4 kids remain that won’t have a team to land on.

Peterborough
Ottawa
Soo
OS
Brantford

Anyone have any inside information on what guys on those teams will likely be shipped out?

There is no way the Schenkel, Allard, or Carlisle get waived from the Soo. They have until January to move one so I can see all 4 playing in the league post deadline with the Soo keeping DeZoete and whoever they don't move.

For Owen Sound, it's going to come down to injury timelines and then trade deadline plans. Konnor Smith should be back sometime in December and be playing before the trade deadline, so Alec Leonard's fate likely depends on whether the Attack decide to keep Smith or trade him. As one of the Top OA upgrades available it's certainly possible.

Leonard's timeline is completely unknown and it looked bad enough I wouldn't be surprised if he's done for the season, therefore also the OHL, and the OA situation very sadly sorts itself out.

So what is the next step there? is he still on the team or released now
If anyone had've claimed him they would've got him for free (but would have to pay this year of his education package, which is likely why nobody did), so now he's still property of the Petes but clearly has been told he's the 4th OA in a league where you can only play 3. So assume he goes to the Q if someone wants him, otherwise goes Jr A

This always happens and there's an injury or two, which clears things up. Most guys find a spot here or in the Q eventually.

Ryan McGuire has been acquired by Caledonia in the GOJHL. Guelph is down to three overagers.

Brantford, Owen Sound, and Ottawa are the three teams that have four overagers on their roster

Believe Leanord is out for the season in Owensound & same with Bujold in Brantford, could possibly be only Ottawa with 4 remaining.

So who’s really in the market for a OA upgrade now? Does Kingston move on from Lalonde and get a OA d man or forward? Does Oshawa upgrade on D’amato

Oshawa will almost certainly upgrade their OA core from D'Amato. If he is still there come Jan 10th, I'll be a monkeys uncle.

I would think Brampton will upgrade on Leskovar. Oshawa will likely upgrade on D'Amato if Roobroeck doesn't come back before the deadline.

The other possibilities are Barrie (Zach Wigle), Kingston (Gage Heyes and Nolan Lalonde), London (Jacob Julien), and Saginaw (Andrew Oke).

Saginaw has been loyal to Oke for a long time so I don't see that changing. Lalonde was acquired by Kingston in the offseason so I don't think they trade him. Only way I think either move is if the Soo is willing to move Charlie Schenkel.

Wigle and Heyes are good role players for their teams who wouldn't move unless the right player is available. Barrie could use another game-breaking offensive talent but I don't see one on the market. Kingston could use a better goalie and if they don't get that they would be smart to get an OA d-man to limit the quality scoring opportunities that their goalies will face.

London is always hard to tell because Hunter likes continuity on his teams but Julien has struggled. He has 15 PTS in 27 games while carrying a team-worst -8 rating. If Hunter sees a better centre out there, like Owen Allard from the Soo, I could see him making that move

Zakary Lavoie has been taken off the list. He's no longer listed on Brantford's roster on the OHL website. The three teams above the overage limit are Brampton, Brantford, and Peterborough

Don’t do that.

As I’ve explained numerous times, Roobroeck’s game isn’t ready for the AHL at this point. He’s not going to “learn on the job” in Hartford when he’s constantly sitting in the press box.

I’m still expecting to see Roobroeck back with Oshawa this year.
How'd that work out today?
