Ovechkin scored against father and son 19 years apart

I'm willing to bet this is the first time a player has scored against father and son in professional leagues.

That'd be kinda hard to figure out, because of all the pro leagues around

but i guess the list of father son goalies playong pro must be pretty thin as is?

Yes, I was thinking just that. So few father-son goalies in pro leagues, and the player scoring against both would need to have almost 20 year pro career, and other things, so it's pretty unique and rare to happen

There’s been atleast one in Finland, Jussi Markkanen and Juho Markkanen for example. Jussi had a long career and retired so late (2018) it’s not impossible, need to check if Kuusela, Kontiola or someone did it. Juho started his elite league career 2021.

Both played in Finnish Liiga, father played in NHL and kid was drafted already.

My point was same player scoring against father and son as goalies, like Ovie did. Sorry but it's a bit unclear, did you mean one player has scored against both Markkanen's or that it is possible?

Both are goalies and there was only few years between them, father retired 2018 and son started this year … both played for one of the weakest teams. Therefore it could be a lot of players who have scored against both actually.

Good point, I was thinking this in a too complicated way

Jeremy Brodeur started playing in a pro league in 2017, and even had a cup of coffee in the AHL in 2020-21 (lol typo). It wouldn’t be a world beating long career for a player to have scored on him and Martin, who played his final game in January 2015.

Sounds like Matt Moulson scored the first AHL goal on Jeremy Brodeur, and he surely got a few against Martin in the NHL.

If you're including time travel in this then it's going to get a lot more complicated.

Yes, like I said I was thinking this in a way too complicated way.
