On pace for his best goal season ever at 37 lol. It's ridiculous.
58G pace in highest scoring season. He also had that pace 3 years ago and last year in first half of the season. On pace for his best goal season ever at 37 lol. It's ridiculous.
Who is on top?Exactly 50% through the season, and Ovi already has the SEVENTH most goals all-time for a 37-aged season.

The schedule should work in his favor. IIRC someone posted a stat suggesting the Caps had the largest drop off in SOS from the first half to the second half of the season.16 goals and 7 assists or 23 points in his last 14 games. That's nothing short of amazing, really. Wasn't expecting to see that kind of goal heater at his "advanced age" anymore, lol. Can he keep the iron hot the second half, too? We're expecting him to tail off at this point, you know like go 45, 40, 35 etc. after last season's 50. Is he not going give a *** and just gonna continue banging 50 after 50 after 50 instead?
Damn you Howe, you’ve ruined everything. Unless Ovie goes for 1000.Only 2 goals away this season from tying Mike Gartner for most 30 goal season all time (17). Ovi is already tied for the most 40 goal seasons with Gretzky (12) and 50 goal seasons with Gretzky/Bossy (9). 20 goal season will depend how many more years Ovi plays as Howe has the record at 22 (Ovi has 18).
That sounds more like Hunter.I swear Adam Oates would bench Ovie if he scored. He seemed visibly angry when it happened.

Realistically Ovi scores 20 goals 3 more times after this season to the end of his contract. That would put him at 21 seasons and #2 behind Howe. Whether he decides to retire or extend after his current contract obviously remains to be seen.Damn you Howe, you’ve ruined everything. Unless Ovie goes for 1000.
I'm hoping he goes for 1000 goals. If he's sitting in the mid 900s and is still playing well, it'll be very tempting to go for it.Realistically Ovi scores 20 goals 3 more times after this season to the end of his contract. Wouldn’t surprise me to OV with a long career like Howe, Messier, and Jagr. He has elite durabilityIf he does play long/productively enough to hit 1k he probably also makes a run at 1,800 points to slot in at #5 all time. That would almost assuredly require him to stick around after the current contract. Currently tracking to finish out in the 7-9 range under his current contract.
