Ovechkin Milestone Thread - Countdown to 894 (Continued)

Ovechkin had a 525 goal head start on Matthews prior to Matthews entering the League.

For all the talk of goals to x age and such, since Matthews entered the League, he's only made up 30 goals on Ovechkin (3.33 goals per season). It's a daunting task to try and pass him even if Matthews aged really well and scoring doesn't go down.

Very impressive how Ovechkin has managed to hold his own amongst a very strong generation of young bucks.

Only 19 goals over 2nd (2.1G per season).
Ovechkin had 112 goals over 2nd in his first 9 years (12.4G per season):

Also Ovechkin was leading NHL by 41 points over 2nd.
Matthews is 9th with 311 points behind 1st (and 14 points behind on his own team).
They are on completely different tiers.

Gap between 1 and 2 in Ovechkin's first nine is almost equal to the gap between 1 and 10 in Matthews first nine.

Besides recognizing best goals scorers only in 1999 with Rocket Richard trophy,
I find it ridiculous that Presidents Trophy was introduced by NHL only in 1986.
People count regular season stats, award individual trophies, but still largely disregard teams success in Regular season, only getting excited when bubble/underdog team is making playoffs. This is still a NA sports "tradition"/anachronism.

Anyway, OV is working on his 4th Presidents trophy with Caps.
From active superstars, I think only MacK/Makar, Kane, Barkov and Kuch have 1.

I wonder which players have 4 or more, I could only think of Datsyuk with 4, is there any less famous Red Wing with 4+? I do not think any other teams have 4 Presidents Trophies.
