I hate that he might get the record that day and Joe Beninati might not call it because of National TV. He should be calling all the caps games from here on out.

Other than Kenny Albert and Bob Wischusen, I don't like any of the announcers. Joe B has been calling Ovechkin since he was a rookie. That's like saying contractors do the work and the Mayor sees all the benefits and contractors get scraps.
I feel the same way about the World Series or any championship game. At least with Baseball, there is still radio, but the home announcers deserve to call a big moment like this. I hope the NHL gets it done because it will be criminal if we have to hear ESPN, who hasn't had the NHL for very long in this second run, just botch it, which they will do.

That said my favorite player of all time are Luc Robitaille and Mario Lemieux and if Mario never had his issues no one would be talking about Gretzky i truly believe he was going to break every single record Gretzky had or atleast most of them . 690 goals in 900 games to boot

I hope he plays until 1000 goals. Like legitimately, scores his 1000th goal, and just leaves the ice and retires there, mid game. Kicker is, I don't think any of his team mates would be mad at it.
