Also he was on pace for 68 goals before he got injured, if he didn't get injured would he have got 70 goals?

Yeah, but those are impossible to count since not captured in game logs.

Is there anywhere the stat of unassisted goals is tracked? I would be very curious to see who has the most unassisted goals in NHL History, or who has the highest % of unassisted goals. This is closest I could find to this stat being tracked for any player...

I think of modern players, Fleury might have the highest ratio of unassisted goals, 11.6%, while most of the other players are closer to 9% (Delvecchio is around 11% too)

Pens fan here. Absolutely love seeing OV on this tear.

His production at his age is literally unprecedented in the sport. Never in a million years would I have seen somebody breaking Gretzky's totals. It's a privilege to have watched him since his first NHL game. Hope all of the haters and naysayers give their heads a shake and find a way to enjoy this. I'd venture to say that we'll never see anything like it again.

I would have found this suspicious too. Had I not watched the Caps and Ovi play for the past 20 seasons.

When the Caps brought him in, I think the plan was for him to be Ovechkin's centre. Unfortunately, he struggled and was out of the League soon afterward.

I think they had the same plan for Michael Nylander a couple of years later. That didn't work out, either.
