In his career, how many serious injuries has Ovie had?

It blows that he got hurt during such a great stretch and while being so close to the record, but maybe that's where his age comes in.

McDavid was supposed to be out for a while and only missed three games (obviously he's a lot younger and in his prime). Hopefully Ovechkin won't be out too long. I want the record to be broken this year.

People may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

One can't help to speculate if this injury could've been avoided if Ovechkin would take his physical fitness seriously. I mean look at that gut and those twigs that Ovechkin calls legs. Imagine if he hit the gym on a regular basis. Martin St Louis had legs like these when he was Ovechkin's age:

According to Norwegian radio, Ovie will return in early January 2068. He will be placed in his favorite spot for his one timers in a wheelchair , to make sure he takes the record and play 60 min every game.

MSL was short though Mulletman.

On him that knee would have been a headshot.

Man has legendary longevity and durability, here comes Mulletman with the equally legendary bad take. Always on brand, it's why I love you

Yesterday a friend called me from Salt Lake City.

He said there are these two big guys in his area, with shaved heads wearing black leather jackets, they got this thick accent, and they are asking everyone "ixkyus mee, ve arr lookink for owrr frrent Jehk Mahkbayn. Yoo know ver ve ken fint hees house?”

Maybe they want his autograph?

From NHL.com:

"Prior to the injury, Ovechkin had a career-high shooting rate (23.8 percent, 94th percentile; career average: 13.0); his previous high was 15.4 in 68 games during the 2019-20 season. Per NHL EDGE stats, Ovechkin has eight shots of at least 90 miles per hour this season, the second most among forwards behind Tage Thompson of the Buffalo Sabres (10), and his top shot speed (94.98 mph) ranks ninth at the position."

It's doubly unfortunate that this injury comes during a very dense part of our schedule. We have a game every other night, so he's going to miss several even if he returns "quickly".

Definitely a bummer, but it not being expected to be long-term or at all season ending is at least a relief

Basically, .833 is 50 goals in 60 games.

Yeah but the problem is, like all projections is that he hasn't scored 50 in 60.
He's scored 15 in 18.

Which is clearly still great for anyone, never mind a guy with that much gray in his hair. But lets wait until he gets 50 in 60 (or 70 for that matter, or just 50 period) before getting carried away?

You misunderstood my point. I used 50 in 60 as an examples to show what .833 is
