Ovechkin already stated multiple times in his Russian interviews, he’s not staying past next season if the goal record is broken
He's also said breaking the record isn't possible. A good team like this and still playing at this level at the end of next may mean everything or it may mean nothing.

Well a huge number of ex or retired Caps from all over stay there after they're done playing. Quite a few actually return there after ending their careers elsewhere. Its the same with ex Redskin/WTF/Commanders players too. So, you know, plenty of people want to stay and live there.
It was just mentioned on the radio that Eller kept his home here after being traded away.

why?

I want to know why he was so bad when he's clearly still got so much left in the tank
The whole team was running on fumes by that point. They'd lost Oshie like 4 times during the season, Wilson was coming back from injury, Carlson was out Backstrom only played like 20 games, Kuznetzov was miserable, they'd dumped Mantha and I think Jensen at the deadline.
