Not sure what ovechkin's contract status is but I think he breaks the record, exits the nhl, and finishes his career with a season or two in the khl.

1 more year after this one on his current contract. The team is playing well and he seems to be having fun. Most of us think he'll finish it out at least.

If things are going well, who knows. Maybe he Jagr's it for a while longer.

Wayne is a pretty good golfer too - wonder if he did this the 1st time he ever played

Not to bring a turd into this, but....

This was at Springfield CC on the 4th hole. He hit at least 40 range balls before one went in. Im pretty sure it was one of those scramble things where you could buy mulligans and the money went to charity.

It was a team tourney I believe, but OV just stayed at the one hole as groups went through, and hit a ball with each group.

Still pretty good, I’ve played hundreds of par threes, come close, but never got one.

Same, hit one to about 3 inches on a short 130 yd par 3 my second year playing- never been closer than that

I mean, assuming he breaks the record this year, next year will 1000% be his last but one I think he's 100% reporting for. It'll be his retirement tour, but there's no way he re-signs in Washington. He's always said he wanted to go back home and end his career playing in the KHL/Dynamo Moscow.

even though the Caps are a division rival I actually hope they stay good for a while longer so Ovi sticks around. want to see him hit 1000

I’m sure it’s been said countless times already, but I’m absolutely marveling that any player has turned an “impossible” into an “inevitable.”

I hope he breaks the record, and sticks around for 4 digits. Incredible goal scoring machine like the league has never seen.

Yeah but he could always do that at age 42 or 43. It's not like the KHL is going to turn him down.

Context like this and GWG's (along with Goals up by 2+ chart posted by pnep Oct. 29) show a lot regarding the value of OV's goals vs. Gretzky's

GWG's: Gretzky 91, OV 131

Gretzky's 255 goals up 2+ (134 of those up 3+) vs
OV's 129 goals up 2+ (41 of those up 3+) (thru 2023-24)
