Whether or not it's dangerous, I feel the league has a pretty predictable stance on these hits.

For all intents and purposes, when they say a hit is "through the body" it's basically any hit that doesn't pick or isolate the head.

Outside of doing that, it's all fair game. This applies to the Wilson hit too.

shouldnt have even been a penalty. You are entitled to your place on the ice. Unfortunate Evans was admiring his play. Ovi almost wasnt even looking at him as he was doing a wide load rink turn to say he was back checking. The league or the fans have become ridiculously soft. Incidental contact as best. Andersons late hit on wilson was an absolute decision to hit wilson without the puck. If it wasnt Ovi, Evans may have just glanced by but Ovi is a freight train.

To Habs fans, it wasn't a brutal head shot, it wasn't a major, wasn't fine or suspension worthy.

To Caps fans it was close enough to be called, regular season minor every single game, but if I were a Caps fan I would bitch about the next close hit that doesn't get called. As the Canes Trupp Tracy would say "That was a strict constitution" and I would want the same called the other way.

Agreed for the most part. Wasn’t surprised they called it, caps got away with a few in the first couple games so the refs were gonna be looking to even things up.

Scheifele got suspended for killing him in the bubble after an empty netter.

This one to me looked like Ovechkin went to change course after seeing the puck leave the zone and Evans just happened to be in the tracks... predictable result with OV being a train and Evans being off balance.
