I think it's more than just Dubas on the hot seat contract or no. Another 1st round exit will probably lop off higher heads.I saw that, too. Dubas' contract ends this year. So if Leafs don't have a deep run, he's not coming back.
But unless Sens fire Dorion (which my guess is they'd already have done so if he were to be fired), then I see Dubas going elsewhere.
I could be wrong, but I think Dorion is still safe in Ottawa. Even though they missed the playoffs, Sens did take a step in the right direction this year. They were no longer a Bottom-10 team. They were competing for a playoff spot for a good while in March/April. So there was progress.
Rumours about Dubas going to the Sens if TO is eliminated quickly?
Are the current owners going to fire Dorion? I would expect they would leave things as they are and let whoever buys the team decide if they want to keep him.I saw that, too. Dubas' contract ends this year. So if Leafs don't have a deep run, he's not coming back.

technically, they'd still miss out the playoff based on Regulation Wins tiebreaker
Treliving out.
I get why the Leafs didn't extend Dubas before entering the final year of his contract and likely wanting to see how the playoffs go for them first this season but if I'm Dubas I'd also be a bit ticked off with his current contract situation.Dubas's name is popping up in a lot of current G.M. openings. Pittsburgh is apparently interested in him too. He'll have a ton of interest if Leafs do let him walk. Unlike Bergevin, he'll actually get another G.M job.

Have no choice to root for them for obvious reasons. Will also be rooting for their 2nd round exit.Ok let’s go bruins (gag, barf)
I’m not entirely positive Shanahan’s job is safe w a 1st round Leafs exit.I get why the Leafs didn't extend Dubas before entering the final year of his contract and likely wanting to see how the playoffs go for them first this season but if I'm Dubas I'd also be a bit ticked off with his current contract situation.
If I were him, even if the Leafs win vs Tampa and the Leafs wanted to talk extension after, I'd still let my contract expire and see just what other options would be available to him first before making a decision on returning to the Leafs or not.
If the Leafs lose in round 1 he's likely out as the Leafs GM but if they do win a round or 2 I fully expect him back with the Leafs, which is where he likely wants to be anyway.

What we’re starting to see this offseason, is the Covid patience is over, owners want results now.
You can remove "might"...they are getting the bootIf Leafs lose 1st round, Shanahan & Dubas might be out the door.
Does it matter? I thought only the cup finalists were re-seeded.Have no choice to root for them for obvious reasons. Will also be rooting for their 2nd round exit.
I mean, he'd probably do good there since he can't get star players (but they already have those!) but he's great at getting all the supporting bargain bin grinders.Ok let’s go bruins (gag, barf)
Bergevin should get the leafs Gm job.
Bergeron a game time decision. Was he already suffering before he played in Montreal and only started because it was possibly the last game here before family and friends? I don't even remember an incident during the game that hurt him? I just knew he didn't turn up for the second period.
