Not sure why we bring Cooley in this conversation but since you ask... I think Cooley is another Caufield, exciting player but I wouldn't have spent a 1OA on him. Slaf is a bit of a gamble it's true, but he brings elements in size and skills that a team needs on the first line.

But that was that year's draft. Slaf would not have been chosen over Bedard, Demidov, Celebrini in other years

Some games to keep an eye on today:

Boston versus Ottawa. I guess we would hope for no 3 point game.

Its a pivotal weekend for the Rangers. They have the blue jackets today and Montreal tommorow. A weekend sweep probably gets them right on the edge of the line.

Wings are in Tampa.

A Montreal regulation win and a Columbus regulation loss would vault Montreal into a wildcard spot.
