Out of Town Thread - New Year’s 2025 Edition

Bergevin was on a podcast recently. I had to skip over the first hour -- who are these clowns? tons of cursing, really bad radio.

Starting the interview now but the vibe I see in the comments tells me I'll just get mad...

Well it's Marc Bergevin

He'll probably say it's all his fault and he's not perfect and then spend 1 hour saying he made no mistake whatsoever.

I've not listened to it and can already make a resume.

- Centers they are not avalaible.
- It's not the Playstation (ndlr he means the Playstation 2)
- If you want loyauty buy a dog
- If i had to chouse one guy to go with in a foxhole it would be MT
- NO EXCUSE (ndlr except for myself)
- MOAR GRIND
- SHoT DA puCK to DA neT
- Chu fier des gars (ndlr here's 6.5 millions to all of you)

My brother shared the link without telling me when interview starts. They are definitely... something. It started making sense when I made connection the dude is Cam Janssen. Idk if they are trying to copy Spittin Chiclets

So far he's leaned very heavily on Culture and Character (without so much as using those terms). For example he justifies the Subban trade on grounds of the necessity of a culture change in the form of Shea Weber. Implying that Shea Weber, on the downside of his career, was absolutely necessary to acquire and giving up Subban was a fair price to pay. I guess, to be fair to him, he really wanted a trusted leader in the room so he could give them 'space' and he didn't have such a character (and obviously didn't trust Pacioretty either)... but talk about misplaced priorities...

Now he is saying "if you never take chances, you'll never improve your team" which is highly suspect coming from the guy who so adamantly refused to """mortgage the future""".

The hate-watch continues...
 
Since hockey's future doesn't exist anymore, is there any point to the home button? Clicking home and forums brings you to the exact same place.

It was reported Roy and Duclair had a talk and that they mutually agreed he should step away from the team for a bit.

He goes through phases where he doesn't particularly care it would seem.

This dude scored 30 with Florida and just did really well in a short stint with Tampa and now he can't produce? Something going on with him
