Here's an idea Edmonton... How about just hiring the next guy on your list? There's just no way that guy is worth that much trouble. Heck, you could just wait 6 months and hire DeBoer 15 minutes after he gets fired like everyone else, ffs.
What are they thinking?

Lol, first of all Mark Stone will age just fine because his game does not involve speed at all. Dude is in his prime right now.
Second of all, we increase our chances at a Cup dramatically (more so than with Knies) because Stone would be our best winger. You can put him with Suzuki or Caufield and slot Slaf with Demidov. At that point, your 2C wouldn't have to be Hischier, you could get away with an improved Kapanen.

If we win the Cup because of it, nobody will care we gave up Zharovsky. The 1st rounders are late ones, they are overrated in value.

*This is in the hypothetical scenario that Stone is never injured.

Brother....i hate to be the bearer of bad news but...Stone would be our "best winger" maybe half the season at any given time. Although he is skilled, when's the last time he played a full season? The answer is...never. We need players that can actually stay on the lineup my man. Not yet another injury prone half a season player that take the other half to get into game shape.

The league allowed Quenneville to coach again for whatever reason, hard to imagine they will prevent Babcock from doing the same
Bettman is a waste of space. Babcock should have been investigated if there were aligations when he was fired. if not there is nothing to investigate.

The hilarity of hiring a GM that was involved in a big scandal...who then turn around and hire a coach that was involved in a scandal. :biglaugh:

Oilers will never get better until they get a new owner. It's been awful decisions after awful decisions non-stop. They don't deserve McDavid.
Thought I read somewhere that McDavid was going to re-up for 7 years. Did I read that right?
