HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

The players who grew in our org since Houle left tend to stay with us. Plekanec, Markov, Subban signed with us long term, Suzuki, Slaf, Caufield, Price, Kovalev said he regretted not extending. It's a sign of an org who respect its players. Radulov's and Markov's unloyal dog probably tarnished our rep a bit though.

Souray was another one who ended up regretting his leave although that was a different story.

Souray was looking to go to new york or la and those opportunities fell through one way or the other. So he's basically stuck on the market and all of sudden, gainey circled back to him and offered him a final chance to stay but said he had 10 minutes to respond.

Before souray could accept, he saw the ticker on TV showing that the habs just signed roman hamrlik.

Souray ended up going to Edmonton and he did not have good things to say about that organization.

Some of the best stories we never hear about happen on July 1st.

Edmonton used to be pretty bad. I remember that Petry did not hesitate to sign here after being traded because he said that he saw the difference between both organizations. That he was finally treated with respect and class.

Souray was basically saying the oilers organization was accusing him of exaggerating his injury issues.

He talked kindly of everyone during this podcast and was very humble. The only exception was the oilers organization.

They were apparently calling him a silver spooner when he tried to give feedback on how the Oilers could improve what they offered players based on his time in Montreal.

Is this a joke? Absolutely NOT. He brings nothing.

I liked KK so much during his draft, especially at the U18. He played like a dog, forechecking, shutting down Jack Hughes, making passes and plays with his stickhandling. The only time he looked that good was when he came back during the bubble. This is why the interview process and talking to people around him is so important. He never really listened to the staff here and never took steps to improve his game. This is in stark contrasts to guys like Scheifele, Barkov and Draisaitl. Just look at their skating during their draft year compared to now. Draisaitl went from a slow player to one of the fastest players in the league.

Dundon deserves this player and contract.
