Haven’t seen it anywhere officially yet, but lots of talk that the decision has been made for Russia to not be attending the 2026 Olympics. Any thoughts on their theoretical roster? Exceptionally strong on the wings and in net, just about nothing at center from the NHL, defence is dicey.

Is there a Russian player capable of playing center at an elite? A right-handed defenceman suitable for a top pairing? Seems crazy that a top hockey country has stopped producing centers.

As far as Habs are concerned, Treliving did us a solid as Flames GM. We got the 16th OA pick to take on Monahan.

Which is as expected as this team realistically was hoping to fight to be in the mix for a playoff spot. There is still a long way to go in terms of development and filling in roster holes before we're at the contention stage

Oh, I absolutely agree that's to be expected, and it does not detract from the work that's been done; however, some have asserted that the team is closer to the end of its rebuild process than we truly are. Impatience and misperceptions regarding the quality of the team at this moment can lead to unjustified negativity.
