Is Florida this good or Carolina just that bad( by bad i mean not built for the playoffs)
Yeah
No taxes
Great weather
Media focused on football
It's no surprise really.. lucky f***s
Yes, and the number of years of failure.I think the biggest issues were the two blowout games (#5 and especially #7). If these two games were 2-1 losses instead, well I think the narrative would have been different.
Leafs might be the only team to take Florida to 7 games … and they’re gonna blow it all up. lol
Maybe not “blow up”, but the end of the Shanaplan and the core-4. significant changes.I doubt they blow it up. Marner is gone. I think they would like to move on from Rielly but he has an NMC. They'll build around Matthews, Nylander & Knies now.
The D is all signed for next year so they're all likely coming back. Ditto the 2 goalies.
We'll see if they sign Tavares. He'll need to take a significant pay cut. But, they need to rebuild their forward core. It's not deep enough.
Tavares really showed his age in the playoffs. I probably would not bring him back.I doubt they blow it up. Marner is gone. I think they would like to move on from Rielly but he has an NMC. They'll build around Matthews, Nylander & Knies now.

Undersized, unidimensional complementary winger... like basically a poor's man Caufield.Stankoven is invisible
He was one of the Stars standouts in last years playoffsUndersized, unidimensional complementary winger... like basically a poor's man Caufield.
What did you expect him to do vs the Panthers ?!
Mind games have crept in Canes smaller players - many have started to play scaredCanes still with less than 10 shots. Man. Cats are so good.

When you are the 12th forward on the Stars lineup and playing vs the 3rd defensive pairings, it's easier to standout. He was one of the Stars standouts in last years playoffs

Rantanen.. And I mean just him, not really the Dallas StarsFlorida adds Jones and Marchand...who can really compete with them?
This is pain.
Reminds me of when we faced Bolts in finals.
That's a tall order...
Knies & Robertson are their only U25 forwards, and the prospect pool is pretty barren after Cowan.... Only 2 x 2nd round picks of the top 64 in the next 3 drafts.
Hard to imagine they'll be a lineup of mid career vets eager to take a paycut to jump into that mess. If they were smart, they'd be quietly shopping Matthews and see if they can't get a quality prospect heavy team like Anaheim, SJ or Chi to give them a Lindros-like asset pay day.
