Seriously... If only we had a coach who could help an undrafted project get to NHL level play

You probably weren't aware that undrafted Xhekaj is 5th in NHL games played (all of which under St-Louis & his staff) from ALL dmen drafted in his draft class.

And, we've played him with a focus on him growing as an actual NHL defender, rather than just as a one-trick punching pony.

That's about as great a development opportunity any prospect could hope for.

He's in great hands. Quite arguably the best organization & coach he could have ended up with.

31 GM's will be calling Hughes if they ever make Arber available which would be a stupid move. Keep developing him.

I would be very surprised if they trade him. Habs need a player like him as a 5-6 dman. His trade would not bring back equal value at this point in his career.

I think the biggest issues were the two blowout games (#5 and especially #7). If these two games were 2-1 losses instead, well I think the narrative would have been different.
