Matheson is better regarded than people here think. He can log a ton of minutes and is one of the best skaters in the league. The difference with Jones though is Jones is a RHD. That's a big value bump.

Although he does have an extra 2.5 million in cap hit. I agree Jones is seen as more valuable however. He still sucks.

Yeah I was worried because IIRC in regular season games they usually just continue the game short-staffed. Glad to see they have a contingency plan in place for the playoffs.
