HF Habs: Out of Town Thread: 2025 Playoff edition

I'm very much looking forward to a Dallas/Edmonton rematch. I feel like the best is yet to come for Drai and McDavid this postseason. Dallas's top players this postseason are Rantanen/Harley/Oettinger who weren't on the team or struggled in the post season last year. Oilers will win if Dallas' depth in Robertson/Duchene/Marchment/Benn don't play much better.

With the salary cap going up and teams like Anaheim tired of being bad it seems most teams are ready to spend.

The 4 legit free agents;

He tried to hurt our Jakey Wakey so he's Satan incarnate
hahahah and i was cursing the hell out of him and wh i dislike him on the ice.
But half the league does dirty hits, heck chara hit was 100 times worst .
That means nothing to their office personality.

Heiskanen is getting back in game shape and I think Dallas has a huge advantage in goal.

I don't think you will see one offer sheet because the cap is rising exponentially.
Well you could say the same for teams who are looking to send in offer sheets.

And matching is not just about having enough room. It's how much you value the player vs the cap hit that is being proposed.

1 - Not every team is going to necessarily be willing to increase spending.

2- One GM could have plenty of room and rather lose a guy than overpay him by 2-3M fo internal reasons.

Dallas had tons of trouble with the Oilers forecheck last year and it will probably be similar this year. Oettinger isn't so hot against the Oilers.
I hope Edmonton beats them and here is why i think they can- they have more than 2 players up front now...they have skill, size and grit. If goaltending holds up Edmonton has a good chance.

Not sure what to expect from tonight's game 7. On the one hand I'd maybe give a slight edge to the Leafs since they won game 6 and are at home tonight but on the other hand they looked like crap at home for game 5 so...

The Leafs did a great job of shutting down any high danger scoring chances and blocked a ton of shots in game 6 so Florida is gonna have to bring far more intensity and get to these high danger scoring areas far more tonight.

Woll had a fairly easy game 6 facing mostly perimeter shots without traffic in front so Florida is gonna have to get in his face and make his night far more uncomfortable tonight if they want to advance.

Should be a good game and I won't be sad if it gets to OT. :)
